What is the green/yellow wire on oem trailer hitch convertor box?

Hello,

I'm trying to figure out where the green wire with yellow line in it plugs into? Its coming out from the toyota factory trailer hitch black convertor box. I pulled it and the hitch from a scrap yard years ago and plugged it in, but not sure where the green/yellow wire goes.

Im getting ready to finally use the hitch and want to make sure that everything is working properly.

Any feedback is greatly appreciated!

According to the pdf it's right tail light.

Those converter boxes like to go bad at this age, so check it really well... Or just get any number of aftermarket plug-n-play options if the OEM fails. I soldered on the Toyota end at the hitch so it would still bolt on to the OEM hitch.

Thanks for this information. but how does one connect the green wire? Do I splice it in to a existing wire on the right side, use t-tap, butt connector? Not sure how this is done.

In OEM form, it connects into the harness using an in-line connector.

I'll suggest it again - get a new aftermarket converter. The OEM ones at this age aren't reliable (I went through two before going aftermarket). It'll be plug-n-play just like the OEM one.

Put a volt meter on it and make sure it's the correct wire, then splice it in to the existing wire coming from the front IE1 conector. I prefer soldering but you can use what ever you prefer. Make sure the ground is hooked up before you test it.
