What is the normal shock replacement interval?

Took my 2020 Limited for the 80K service today, figure it would be a straight normal service with no major surprises of any kind. After the vehicle inspection by the technician they came back that the front driver/rear passenger shocks were starting to leak and recommended all four shocks to be replaced, used to own a 2007 Sport Edition and never had to replace the shock even after 250K when I sold it.

It’s the first vehicle that I have owned that needs shock replacements, it’s all normal city/highway driving (occasional small potholes here and there but nothing major).

Guess it’s luck of the draw that I need to replace the shocks this early, kinda a bummer…

The OEM shocks go about 80K miles. That’s when ours gave it up. Installed Bilstein 5100s and they are still going at 240K miles. The test is to bounce the bumper down hard and see if it bounces on the upswing.

There's no real way to tell since driving habits and road conditions dictate the life expectancy.

Sounds like you have an X-REAS leak. Unfortunate problem with owning a Limited.

For the price of a replacement OEM setup, you can get something better that’ll last much longer.

Find someone with pull off OEMs from doing a lift and install.
I need to get around to dumping mine someday
