What is this add-on button/switch?

And they still are. I was at the dealership today get an annoying rattle fixed that's been driving me crazy for the last year or so. Turns out the rattle was caused by this aftermarket KARR alarm that they'd put in. Even though I didn't purchase the alarm, they left the various components in the 4Runner when I bought it. Apparently, this crap isn't worth the effort for them to remove it when one declines buying it.

Below is my description of the rattle and their fix as noted on today's repair order.

Anyway, I was walking around the lot and noticed that they still seem to be putting these into all of their vehicles in inventory.
Wow! I noticed two screw holes in my left lower dashboard since I bought my 4Runner and I kept wondering what that could have been! I finally got my answer, thank you!
Hopefully, they removed that crap entirely.

Did you get yours from Stevinson Toyota? On mine, they left the socket on the lower dash and plugged in a jumper socket to deactivate it. I wish they had removed it entirely, although the wiring harness would remain hacked up in any event. Finding out that was the cause of my rattle added insult to injury. Thinking of trading my '16 Trail for a '20 TORP, and (even though Stevinson's convenient and I otherwise like them), I may look to another dealer simply because of this.
