I am not pro-gun nor am I anti-gun. I am also not for people sticking to things written on a piece of paper over 200 years ago. We have changed immensely since then and so must our rules and law to go along with it. Heck, there was a law in the NW that it was legal to shoot an asian person after sunset. Does that mean I think we should ban all guns? No. What we need to do is stop blaming inanimate objects for the actions of animated ones. We need to become better humans. We need to get to know those around us better. The more in touch we are with those around us, the more likely we are to know when and if one of those people are in a bit of a bind or in need of some help. Is it possible with 300 million people in this country? Probably not, but they say the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.

It seems his mother lavished plenty of attention on him. She wanted to bond with him by taking him shooting?! She knew her son was mentally disturbed and she chooses FIREARMS! as the hobby with which to 'connect' with him! Why not fishing or birdwatching!!! How about astronomy? Anything but guns. She showed an appalling lack of judgement. She never sought professional help for this deeply troubled young man and she ultimately paid for it along with all the innocent victims.

Wait for all the information is in before judging anyone in this tragedy. It's beginning to look like the mother was killed because the son found out she was going to commit him against his will and he found out before the paperwork was done giving her the legal right to do so.

My comments were accurate based upon the available knowledge. What source did u get ur info from regarding her paperwork to commit him? Probably the same sources that first reported her failure to get him help. As this investigation unfolds there is sure to be more revealed. We're all shocked and angered over this crime and ppl are gonna vent their feelings.
