What kind of gas mileage do you get?

I know I could just look it up, but the "official numbers" are usually not as realistic as we would like.

What mileage do you get, what kind of driving do you (highway/city), and V6 or V8?

87 is fine - I run 93.

extremely variable..
21 - 23 if on a long backroads cruise, or interstate highway @ 55 - 65 mph..
but daily drive, around 12.

But I live so close to work, it never warms up on the way in.

I only get about 15-16 mpg in city, and this driving fairly conservative (trying to stay below 2000 rpm) 12-13 mpg if I drive the way I like it And dont forget, its Canadian winter out here with -20 C and morning warm-ups.
Litlle better on highway, but its not bad at all if you consider its a 4500 lbs truck. I had about same milage on my beloved 97 A8 in a city, but highway was half of that. A8 had a smaller engine (4.2), 900 lbs less but slightly more output (300 hp).

by the way, I use 91 (Premium) grade gas. Just because I know she likes it

In my 2008 V6 4WD, I drive in 2wd normally. I get between 20-22 mpg, but more of in the low 21's to high 20's. Depending how I drive. I use 87 octane fuel.

I've been able to get mid 22's by going to neutral and costing to a stop at lights and stuff. (But don't wanna cause my tranny to die early, so I've stopped that.)

My V8 gets 16-17 mpg in the city, and 18-20 mpg on the open road.

I'm pretty sure the V6 requires premium, I know it has a higher compression ratio than the V8.

Anyway, my V8 is averaging 16.5 around town with a few miles on the highway (55 mph speed limit). I do have a heavy right foot, too. I recently drove it to Seattle and back, round trip averaged 23.4 mpg, and that includes doing ~80 mph on Idaho freeways and ~75 mph on Washington freeways. I don't speed in Oregon, speed limit is 65, I go 64.5.

I've got an 06 Ltd v8 and I drive fairly calm but do punch it now and then making passes and whatnot with city/hay mix. I average 19-20 and that's by calculating not using the in dash lie-o-meter

You want to run the lowest octane you can without knocking/pinging. In 4Runners, whether it be V6 or V8, regular is more than adequate. At the higher elevation here (~4600 ft. above sea level), regular is 85, which has yet to cause any problems. If you run anything higher, all you're doing is wasting money and potentially doing harm to your engine. People ASSUME just because the higher octane is more expensive, it's better for your engine. It's not.

Around 18-20 commuting to work, plus I start it and let it run about 10 mins twice a day which somehow makes my display readout a few points less on the mpg's.

On my 03 4WD V6 21-22 in the hwy and 15-17 in the city, but city is idling, stop and go all time. My car is in Armenia, so I use 95 Octane, but thay say it is 95 wich I doubt, real rating could be 87 US.

That brings up a good point...

Mine seems incredibly consistant, perhaps more consistant than any other car I've had. I always seem to run 19.xx unless I change some habit dramatically for a whole bunch of miles.

I guess that may make sense... My "city driving" is minor stop-n-go with a lot of 35-50mph driving. My highway driving is very fast by comparison; 73mph-84mph typically. I guess when you look at that way my steady 19.xx makes sense.
