Hey boys, I have a 2001 Toyota 4Runner SR5 3.4 Auto. Stock. 128,000 miles. I just bought the car, I had a 96' Bronco 5.8 V8 before, but had to sell. Love the Runner, but I need to lift it ASAP. I plan on having 17" rims on 31" tires. I have done some research on lifts, but can't decide what kind of lift to go with. I want about 3" in front maybe a few in the back, just a leveling kit basically. I do not want to spend a over 400 bucks on a lift however. But then again I don't want coil spacers if I can avoid them.
Any ideas?

First off welcome to the site. Secondly, 31's will fit stock and so will 32's (265/70/17's) so you might want to go with 32's or with a 3" lift 33's (285/70/17). For $400 you are probably going to be stuck with spacers up front and OME/LC coils in the back. LandCrusier coils can be found for $50-100 and will lift the back between 3.5-5". Spacers will be the cheapest up front unless you find some cheap coilovers, use Bilstein 5100's and stock coils or use Tundra TRD coils/shocks and a small spacer on the top.

If you reuse the shocks you can get an OME lift for around $400.

Won't the stock shocks bottom out with the OME Lift? Or do they have enough travel?

Go with Bilstein 5100's on the middle notch for 200 for a Tacoma or a Tundra if you prefer a stiffer valving, then a set of OME 890 coil springs, with shocks from Monroe for 30 bucks each for a 1997 Land Cruiser. That's 430 bucks plus shipping. If you can wait around, you can cruise the classifieds and pick up a lift pretty easily at a pretty good discount.

I have Land Cruiser rear shocks and a 1.5" Coil Spacer, the ride is REALLY good in the rear, and I have full articulation. The ride is not harsh at all, and the rear end feels really planted and solid.

So all you have in front is the 3/4 Spacer/Tundra Shocks? I don't need a huge lift, but i want to try and improve the ride, a little stiffness is fine

I just bought the tundra billys 5100 and the daystar 1.5 in rear spacers from 4wheel parts for 240 with shipping
