Just got my 4runner, Looking to start off by getting a lift, wanted to know what lifts yall would suggest.

My two cents.
Spend the money on good shocks (Bilsteins) and adjustable Coilovers (ToyTec).
These ToyTec Coil Overs (FJ, 03 & UP 4Run, & 05 & UP Tacom - Toytec Lifts: Toyota Lift Kits: FJ Cruiser Lift Kits, Tacoma Lift Kits, Tundra Lift Kits, 4 Runner Lift Kits, Sequoia Lift Kits, Toyota Truck Lift Kits will bolt right in.
Or to save some money you can reuse some of your parts and mount these Front adjustable coil over kit with Bilstein 5100's - Toytec Lifts: Toyota Lift Kits: FJ Cruiser Lift Kits, Tacoma Lift Kits, Tundra Lift Kits, 4 Runner Lift Kits, Sequoia Lift Kits, Toyota Truck Lift Kits
They are the same shocks and coils. The first ones are pre-built, the second ones require your stock setup to be dissembled and reassembled reusing the top mounts. Both are awesome.

I think the second ones require him to have either Bilstein 5100 or the Trail Teams Bilstein's. Edit - Nvm looked at it wrong, forget all of this that was just said ^
That being said...read up and what are the uses of said lift kit?

Don't let the trolls tell you that you need a super pricey kit.
A lift kit is all about what you'll be using your vehicle for. You can tell yourself that you NEED a long travel kit for the mall, but if you know you won't really use it off road there are plenty if in between on this forum.
The best place to look is the picture threads. Find a truck you like and copy. That way there's no guess work. You know what size tire will clear, how much trimming, and most of these guys (if you ask) will be happy to tell you cost info.
Edit- I like OME. For a weekender on a budget me and my wife (fj) have been extremely happy with the kits.

I have the OME setup with toytec superflex springs and I'm happy with it. The whole kit was around 800 (IIRC) and I like it more then the X-REAS that came on my Sport.
It really depends on what you are looking for, if you are going to off road then you should definitely get new springs and shocks so you can get more travel and take advantage of the lift. If you have the extra dough then definitely get a coil over kit, most are adjustable and there are some very solid options out there.
Don't cheap out if you can afford it! Many people on here have gone the cheap way and bought a spacer lift just to upgrade again later. Do it right the first time.

This one FJ Cruiser/4Runner Ultimate 3" lift package - Toytec Lifts: Toyota Lift Kits: FJ Cruiser Lift Kits, Tacoma Lift Kits, Tundra Lift Kits, 4 Runner Lift Kits, Sequoia Lift Kits, Toyota Truck Lift Kits is a bolt in. It does have the adjustable front coilovers that don't require spring compressors to install.

I just posted something similar in another thread that was asking the same questions about lifts. I'm settling on the old Daystar spacer lift because my XREAS is still working just fine. I know I will end up upgrading in the future, but that awesome lift just isn't in the cards for me right now. Wheeler's Off Road located in Oregon has online ordering, and no sales tax since it is in Oregon. They also offer to do pre assembly on components before they are shipped. Check them out here: Wheeler's Off Road and like I said for anyone wanting the old Daystar Spacer lift, the one J.A. installed on his 4runner, you can get it there. They don't sell the new one because of the possible over-extension problems.

Alright guys, I am looking at getting a lift kit this Christmas and am trying to figure out which route to go. I am looking to spend about $500 (give or take) and would like to make sure I get the best deal for the money. I don't do much offroading yet but I just get my Runner and havent went because it is bone stock.
My 4Runner is a 03 Limited V8 4WD without XREAS.
Needs:
Capable of going off roading
Maintain the stock ride quality (maybe a little stiffer, I feel like my truck bounces a lot)
At least 2.5 inches all around
Would like to avoid spacers if at all possible
I am willing to buy the parts separate instead of buying a complete kit. I do not have any additional weight on the body so that isnt an issue.
Options I am looking into right now:
3" FJ Lift Kit W/Spacers & Rear ToyTec RCC2.0 Coils
Cornfed 3"x2" by Burtman Industries
OME Suspension although those options seem to be out of my price range
Im also trying to figure out some other mods I would like to have done during the Christmas season while I have a little extra cash. So what mods have you done that are a must?
