what!? your saying 4" of lift? are you for real, im running 285s with no lift... you do not need a lift to run 285s, sure you will have some minor rubbing at full lock and full flex, but if the truck is not going to be a wheeler then you will never fully flex it out and 99% of the time you will not notice the rub...
to the OP you most certainly do not need 4" of lift, just go with a 2" if you dont want rubbing and call it a day
Major factors to if and how much rubbing are: wheel backspacing and/or wheel spacers (the further out the tire, the more rubbing), alignment (the way the lower alignment cams need to be set for correct alignment), wheel width (wider moves the outer edge of the tire out increasing rubbing, make, style and model of tire (some tires run big, others are small).
Most rubbing is the inside/rear of the front fenders when the wheels are turned part way. (see the picture that the kid posted). This is usually taken care of by some cutting of the pinch weld (behind the plastic inner fender cover) and then pounding flat. Sometimes pounding that same spot into the drivers compartment some. A heat gun can soften the plastic inner fender so it can be molded flat.
Some have run 285/75-16 BFG ATs on stock wheels WITHOUT wheel spacers. Yes the tire is close to the UCA but does clear. Actually the more suspension lift, the more the UCA rotates into the sidewall of the tire.
