What skids do I NEED?

Hi folks.
I have a 2011 SR5. No locker or crawl.
This is a daily commuter, ocean beach/surf buggy, ocasional camp - trail roads.
In a few years I plan on moving to the San Diego area & can see driving some mountain jeep roads and perhaps some easy desert runs. No rock crawling or technical stuff.
I’m in the process of buying slides to primarialy use as steps but the added protection is nice.
I have the stock skid plate under the motor and something that looks like a skid on the driver side between that driver and passenger door area. Yes I’m a mechanical idot so I have no idea.
My question is, do I NEED to add any other other skid plates for basic protection (e,g, unseen drift wood in the dark or down tree limb or rock taller than I estimated)?
If so what affordable / economy options do you recomend?

I will put skids on mine just as soon as the stock ones get bent. that way I'll know which ones I need to replace....

skids cost bux and add weight to a hardly-over-powered SUV, so I am in no hurry.

I might do sliders first because they also serve as running boards.

I agree with the above notion that I would replace the stock skids if they get bent. If they never do then why bother. But IMO for the light uses you are talking about the ARB skids would do well for you

OEM skid plates are better than the ARBs. I would stick with OEM until they need replacing, then look to Bud, RCI, Shrockworks, etc.

The one skid I would recommend replacing would be the gas tank skid. Since you have an sr5 and the factory skid only covers half the tank.

I have beaten mine to shit so bad I had to hammer one of them back into shape.

Based on what you are going to use your truck for the stock will do just fine.

I was bummed that the SR5 did not come with a full length gas tank skid.
