I use 10 gauge, but really anything 14 gauge and up is good enough.

The thicker the better, especially for longer distances.

:twak: 10 awg?? r u kidding? he not running lights. sorry to sound like a d**k. where r u running it from? just replacing the stock wire from headunit? factory runs are usually 20-16awg even if ur rewiring from an amp still only need max 12awg. i would run 16-12awg. really no speaker would need 10awg. unless ur running very high end speakers with a very powerful amp or a subwoofer. waste of money and a pain to run through the door gromet (spelling) or what ever its called.

Thats why I said I use 10 gauge, I am a crazy fool who overdoes everything. I am running 100 Watts RMS to each door. I run 8 gauge, with a 1 foot run, from my amp to my subs. I would rather have plenty of copper and not have to worry, ever. Plus, it really isn't that hard to fit 10 gauge through the door grommet.

12 gauge, trust me ive done all 3 of my car's stereos. The components WERE always on a highs amp though. So if you ever wanna get an amp for your highs at least your already set up for it

I think these wire gauges are wild stuff, for example I run 12gauge for my PA system which is about 2.2k w per channel with a 50ft run and you guys run 10 gauge for 150 watts?

14-16 gauge is more than addequate, I just finished up my system with this wire it was a pleasure to work with. Easy to strip, easy to feed.
