What Springs for my new 2015 TEP w/ SS Hybrid Bumper & Winch??

I'm waiting to take delivery of my first 4RUnner, a 2015 TEP in black.

I'm going to install a lift immediately, probably go about 2.5", but would like to maintain a factory or slightly firmer ride.

I've decided on the Icon 2.5 Shocks all the way around for their adjustability and rebuildability. Anticipating adding a SouthernSS Slimline Hybrid Bumper (link below), and a winch, should I opt for the Icon Springs, or a heavier coil from OME??

Also will be adding the CBI Rear Bumper, same question regarding rear springs.

I'd suggest the ICON springs, the system works well together. Are you adding UCA's and getting the CDC's to the shocks?

I was hoping to have my dealer install the shocks, but I'm not sure if they will do the UCA's? Do I have to do the UCA's with the extended travel Icons, or can I add the UCA's after? If I don't do the UCA's, am I better off just getting the standard travel Icons?

Yes, I think I am going to get the CDC's, do you recommend them??

Extended travel do require UCA's.

I have KDSS and extended travel coilovers - no issues. I've "heard" the extended travel ride better and I love the ride on mine, but I only have the stock ride to compare it with.

You can use them with stock UCA's but will be limited on lift range. Upgrades will give you full 3 1/2" lift range if needed. I'm set at about 2 3/4" for level, so I'm really not pushing the limits of the UCA's.

The ICON S5 has what I call a "working" relationship with KDSS. I find when dialing CDC's below "3" the KDSS tries to pick up the slack, the relationship becomes less simbiotic. My sweet spot off road is 4 rear, 5 front . . . Suspension seems to be in complete harmony.

Your going to LOVE the ICON upgrades!

Are the Icon springs progressive??

It appears that the fronts are not, the 2" rears are not and the 3" Overland ones are??

So, if I'm understanding this correctly, I should be able to have the dealer install the extended travel shock on all 4 corners, with the stock UCAs.

Then after I take delivery, I could replace the UCAs with aftermarket, long travel UCAs and longer Rear Springs. Crank up the spring perches in the front, and achieve my long travel lift?

Honestly if you are going to have a shop or dealer do the work it would be better for you to do it all at once. Why pay the labor / alignment twice? If they will already be doing the the front COs the labor will almost be zero on swapping out the UCAs.

If you are not sure or have time/tools to do the install yourself, High Tech Truck and Auto in Chantilly does an awesome job (plus some kewl stuff to see and do in the area.

It's only a 9 hour drive from your place. Talk to Scott@Hightech.

Okki

I agree, I'm not sure if the dealer will do the UCAs though. I'm certainly going to ask.

Then, all I would have to do is replace the rear springs to achieve the lift I desire? Seems that I should ask if they'll do the entire job? I'm just not confident a dealer up here in NH will do the lift.

I'm assuming that I will need another alignment after the rear springs are changed and the front is lifted.

IF you are getting the extend travel coilovers you will need UCA's because of the downward travel. I had the same question when I got mine so I called them.

Your best bet is being patient, Call ICON or Metaltech, tell them specifically what you want, they WILL guide you in the right direction. They have sold 1000s of kits, they know what works and what doesn't. Then when you have all the parts Find a competent shop and have them install everything. While I try not to bash dealers to much I would never trust one with A/M parts. Typically there is a 1:10 ratio of good techs to hacks/lube guys. Do you want to roll those dice?

And the alignment is probably the most crucial part. the dealer will not align it to the specs your truck will need, they will set it back to factory.

This is GREAT advice, but how. Do I go about finding a competent installer in my area??

I'm in southern NH.

Google reviews, Forums, Don't limit your self to 4 runners, go over to the Tacoma and tundra forums, but find someone that is knowledgeable in Toyotas. Or you can make the trip down here to DC.
