What Stock 16" Wheels would you prefer on this T4R 3rd Gen?

I want to get 16inch wheels so I can do the 231mm upgrade... but I want the truck to look period.

Which wheels would you suggest?

So Far I'm leaning towards these but maybe I'm missing something.



Your thoughts? All suggestions welcome. Even the goofy ones.

I'm just gonna get steelies when I go 16''. They look good on anything, they're affordable, and durable.

You should probably start by checking which 16s will fit the upgrade first. There is a great thread on here that addresses that issue. Once you know which wheels fit go from there. That will save you a lot of heartache in the long run.

Yea, I've looked over that. I think these would work. Didn't see them "specifically" but I like the suggestion of Steelies. I bet there is the same amount of room inside any of them since the steel outer wheel determines the inside diameter.

EG... lot's of room.

Yes! I have 16" Wheels but with the tundra 199mm since the 231mm did not fit.

Those dont fit his brake upgrade he wants to do without grinding or a spacer.

I liked those 16" tundra wheels in your first picture, until I saw them on a 3rd gen. It just didn't look right.

My favorite 16" wheels are the 5 Stars. Unless, of course, you consider the TRD wheels a stock option.

these are the 2004-5 Tundra 5 spokes as you have in the original post photo. I have them mounted over the 231 tundra brakes

Also it was a no cost change , selling my split 3's for $200 & buying the tundra wheels for $200.

These 16" steel wheels will not clear the 231mm upgrade without using wheel spacers. I did a 231mm upgrade on a customers 4Runner per his request and those wheels will hit the caliper on the outer most corner. Roughly 1mm of interference.
