What TEMP does your AC blow at its coldest?

I realize that not everyone has a handy-dandy thermometer to measure the temperature of the AC blowing at its coldest.....

That being said, those that do have a thermometer, at what temp does your AC blow on the coldest setting?

For reference/comparison, mine blows at 38 degrees Fahrenheit.....with exterior temp at 90-95 and heat index at 102-105.

I used to get 36f before the auto climate control has gone on the fritz, now about 41.

My truck is at 36f all day.

Hey Little Caesar...I am confused......you used to get 36F "before" the climate control went on the fritz and then "now 41" and then the statement "My truck is at 36F all day". Which one is it? 41 or 36???? (Throw some LiquidMoly on it and it might clear everything up...) LOL

Sigh.

This is as useless a discussion as talking about what oil without stating change interval. Output Temp is dependent on humidity and ambient temp so unless you know all THREE, you know NOTHING. The best R-134a can do at a given set of conditions is a matter of physics, and our systems can achieve these values. Mine does, or did until the evap core leaked out. See the attached chart:

For all of us who are apparently dumb @sses, can you provide us the complete physics and diagnostic regimen we must adhere to to make sure our scientific analysis is correct when it comes to the temp blowing out of our vents on the coldest AC settings?

INSPECT REFRIGERANT PRESSURE WITH MANIFOLD GAUGE SET

Test conditions:
Temperature at the air inlet with the switch set at RECIRC is 30 - 35°C (86 - 95°F)
Engine running at 1,5OO rpm
Blower speed control switch set at high
Temperature control set at max. cool

Shoot for 30~40 low side and 150~200 high just got 40* out center vent..
Compressor will cycle @ 36* too cold and you'll have problems

Is this a serious question? Just look at the chart and you will see how much output temp varies with both humidity and ambient temp. You can't compare what some guy in Maryland with 90° ambient and 70% humidity gets with someone in New Mexico has with 80°F ambient and 30% humidity. You can compare what you are getting to the chart. If you are close to the chart, you are good.

If you are being snarky, then just persist in your useless, meaningless comparisons.

I think most of us can say that we sincerely enjoy "being dressed down" by folks who are obviously smarter and more worldly than us. Thanks for blessing us with your intelligence, scientific knowledge and acumen. I am sure we all have a lot to gain and learn from your intrinsic knowledge, technical prowess and expertise.

So you didn't like the way said it. Fine. Please write something that would be more sensitive. Or are you saying you preferred not to understand why performance of A/C systems varies? Who can dislike a dozen posts of varying output temps that mean absolutely nothing? Well, I can. I take pride in the quality of information offered on this forum and I do my best to reinforce it. If I see something that goes in the opposite direction, I say so.

Lots of people ask for my expertise. I'll just cross you off my list of those who want my help. Your loss.

Do yourself a favor and look up the words "humility" and "wisdom"......

I love the Internet.

While you guys are looking up "humility" and "wisdom", im gonna check on the words "maturity" and "passive aggression".... And then wrap it all up with "irony" and see if I can figure it out by then. My experience tells me I can nail all 5 meanings by the end of this post, if I'm lucky, unlike some people.

There is no fixed A/C output temperature because the temperature of the cooled air depends on how hot [and humid] the air was when it entered the system.
You need to measure the ambient air temperature and humidity, and then you measure the temperature drop at the A/C vents.
Oh, and the ambient temperature isn't what the weather bureau says it is for your town, it's the temperature of the air where it's being sucked into the system at the front of the windshield.

Well according to the chart I'm doing pretty good. this week I was measuring charge temp (108) with less than 15% humidity and was getting 54F at the vent. I have always said that 4Runners have great AC when working properly.

The climate control is acting up once again for it opens and closes the blend door at varying times. With the heat it is worse, I have to first put it on MAX heat before being able to control it with the dial. I miss manual controls.

No LM needed here. I did put some MOS2 in my cousin's Exploder, even he could tell a difference.

I love bamadrewski threads. It’s the same pattern over and over. Post something, get response, spends the rest of the time providing colorful and susinct “off your medication” responses.

Keep fighting the good fight obamadrewski

That is why I like to indulge BD from time to time, though when one lives in the hot and humid South, AC just needs to be cold.
