That thing has no off road abilities with those steps. Those are like land anchors!

It's just a MORE expensive hummer

While i agree it is extremely overpriced, those steps fold up and are no lower than the frame sits, and that vehicle is still very off road capable.

If I had 89k, I would buy a Scion FR-S and tune the **** out of it. Then put the rest into the 4Runner.

You know what I would do if I had 89 thousand dollars? I would invest half of it in low risk mutual funds and then take the other half over to my friend Asadulah who works in securities...

Land Rovers are great. If you have unlimited funds to maintain them. Parts are way high and the wrong mechanic can easily screw them up because they're uncommon and just plain different the way they're engineered. Had an '04 Disco. Loved it. Built like a tank. But underpowered. Then it overheated when the electric fan went out with no warning or light.... Until the head warped. PIA!!

Everyone can work on 4Runners. Simple. Dependable. Durable. Cheap.

I do miss the D2 though...

And I think you could import a new Defender for less anyway!

Yes and no on the last part, you can import a defender that is 25 years old, so 83-87 defenders at this point are legal, most North american Spec defender 90's go from between $18-$28k depending on milage, condition and model.

You gotta keep an eye on the gauges while driving my friend, generally when a car overheats by the time a warning light tells you, its too late, the engine temp gauge should help a little, but yes the 4.6 is known to overheat.

Parts aren't terribly high prices but are definitely more than i would like, they are very easy to work on as they are complete break down vehicles, but the non-tdi models could use a little extra reliability, but in europe they are like an F-150, there are tons and parts are cheaper and more readily available.

Obviously I'm joking. Have you read the reviews on that Fr-S. They all say just buy a Mazda. It's too slow. The body lines aren't that great either.

If I had 89 grand I'd just buy the new M5.
