What tint matches factory best on 4th gen?

The factory tint is dyed glass so it can't be removed. There's no problem in putting tint over it.

In regard to front tint, I visit Bay Area, CA and a regular basis from out of state. Take a chance on tint, legal in Oregon, and cross the border???

is there a brand, or type of tint that better matches the factory tint? I want it to look as close to the same as possible, sorry OCD > me! haha

If you are trying to match the front windows with the rear, 35% will be a bit lighter and 20% will be slightly darker. If your OCD is severe, you may want to do 35% or find a shop with 30% because in direct sunlight and from inside the vehicle the 20% is noticeably darker than the back windows. If I remember correctly, the factory glass (colored glass, not tint) is at around 27-28%.

Option #3, which you didn't mention, is my favorite, since the factory glass doesn't protect against UV rays. Put a light tint, such as 50% or 35% on the back windows, then put the front windows to 20%. You will be much happier with this look IMO and it will add to the functionality of protecting your interior.

just got my windows tinted today. 20% on the rears and 50% on the fronts. part of me is curious if i should've gotten 5% on the rears cuz i can still see into my car from the outside.

are there any others who got 5% over factory on the rears? if so, how hard is it to drive at night (especially when you're backing up or checking your blind spot)? i'd rather not have to roll down my window to back up every time since i like to back into parking spaces.

Meh, it's not that bad... sometimes I would roll my window down when backing up. But besides that, its worth every % lol. I live in Arizona though too so a dark window tint is your friend.

It really depends how anal you are about seeing into your truck. I had 20% on the rears and like you said, you can easily see inside still. I then went to 5% on the rears, and currently I have 20% over 5% on the rear sides, and 5% over 5% on the very back window. The back window will always have visibility into the vehicle unless you double layer it since it has the clear windshield opposite it.

5% isn't that bad as far as blind spots. I manage just fine with double layered tint. I do roll down my rear window when I back into spots at night, but I do it every night and it doesn't bother me.
