what tire to buy?

Ok I have an '05 SE V8 with around 19.5k miles and after last winter I'm looking to replace the Dunlop Grandtreks that came on it. I have decided on either the Revo's or the Firestone Destination A/T so I need some opinions on which tire I should get. Also some thoughts about jumping up to a 265/70/17 instead of the 265/65/17 that came on it.

I never had the Firestones , but have the Revos in a P265/70/17. Nice all around tire.

People would give more info if they knew what your intentions were and how you use your 4R.

I use my 4runner as a daily driver so that is why i dont want a true mud tire. I am looking for a tire that is good on road but can handle light to moderate off roading. Also after last winter I want a tire that can handle snow, the Dunflops that game on it are horrible in snow. I have done my research on tire rack and found that the firestone destination a/t and revo are what I am looking for and are just about equal in all categories except price. The Firestones are about $30 or so cheaper which is why I was considering them. I know alot of guys are running revos and those are great tires. I was just wondering for the $$$ is the Firestone a better choice since rating wise they are almost equal?

The two best all-terrains that can handle severe snow conditions are BFG AT KO and Goodyear Wrangler SilentArmor. Both have the snowflake-on-mountain symbol. Both are good for on-road travels and should be more than enough for your off-roading.

Both REVOs and Firestone AT are good choices. If you encounter heavy winters, then i advise you to look at the two above choices.

I agree with the heavy snow. I would go BFG , but never tried the other tire mentioned.
