What to do

LandCruiser

I was cooking off my AR recently when I was approached about my TE. I have recently mounted a Shrockworks bumper and medium Emu lift. The tires are new-ish Pro Comps. It's not "modified" but it's not "stock" either.

They guy offered me over 35.5k cash, since he wants to buy it for his son as a college graduation present and mine is modded and low-ish miles.

My FJ80 just sputtered back to life, so I have a running trail rig. The wife has a lightly modded LE.

I was thinking about taking his offer and using the money to pay off the repairs to the Land Cruiser and maybe use the rest as a down payment on a short cab 4x4 Taco (and some mods).

I'd still come out ahead, money wise.

...decisions.

I have random strangers offer to buy my 4Runner fairly often. So far I haven't been inclined to accept their offers.

If you sell it, you can always buy another 4Runner if you decide you can't live without one.

So, you need to choose between a) keeping the 4Runner, or b) fixing up your 80, buying a Taco on the side, and having money left over?

I don't understand how you're struggling with this.

Sell it!

We'll give you a couple months to buy a new one before we kick you off the site

I recently picked up a 2010 double cab taco and I love it! I will eventually get another 4runner but it's really hard to beat the Tacoma. It's nice having a mid size 4 door truck that gets good mileage, looks good and is still very functional. The prices are pretty good on these tacos too!

I say option c) Pay for the LC repairs, buy a cheaper Taco, and use a little for a down-payment on a 2014. Maybe there's a little money left over for some ammo too.

FWIW, there seems to be more and more random people asking about my 4th gen too. It's tempting sometimes. It would have to be a crazy offer to get me serious though.

Sell it.

I got $50 for graduating from college in 01. A free dinner was thrown in after getting the MBA in 06. That must be one proud parent.
