Not what you want to hear probably, but another 4Runner... Either a 3rd or 4th gen. I've already decided this. I like Tacomas too, but the price to get into that game is just too high for me.

Probably a newer 4th gen '06~'09 V8... Though I might look at something like an LC100... Not sure I could live without the V8 to be honest; the 5th gens leave some to be desired compared to my 4th in a couple departments...

But I guess I could always try and shove a 5.7L in a 5th gen...

If I had to replace my '96 I would get a 5th gen. If I had to go away from Toyota (I might get shunned for this) I really like the new Explorer with the ecoboost or an ecoboost F-150. But to replace it with something to use as it is used, I would get a non-SASed 3rd gen or a 4th gen.

If money was no option 1994 6 speed supercharged 3uzfe powered sc400 or single turbo swap 2jz supra either in orange

I don't know. The 4th and 5th gen 4Runner's really don't do much for me. I had a '95 FZJ80 with locking diffs front and rear that was okay, but I didn't like it as much as my '97, V6, 5speed, E-locker 4Runner.

I'd probably give some serious thought to bringing a LHD Diesel Landcruiser here from a South American Country.

Well, I just had to do this. Needed something for a new job with travel. Its not what most would choose, but 5th gens were more than vehicle allowance, and not as comfortable to be honest.

I kept the 3rd gen, but my wife will be driving it for the most part until she finds something she likes.

I got this (not mine but same thing)

I ask myself the same question every morning in the quest to replace my current DD with something older and more reliable.

Right now, I'm going to jump on the the best "deal" that comes my way. That "deal" is between a 4th gen v8, LC 100, or LX470.

Definitely a Jeep Grand Cherokee. I hear they are awesome and totally way more capable and reliable than any 4Runner. Legend says women remove and throw their undergarments at Grand Cherokees when they drive by, and grown men who don't drive Grand Cherokees weep with feelings of inadequacy every time they see one.

:peep:

another 4runner (any gen, likely 4th gen v8 4x4 or another 5th gen though), like many here have already said. i love this thing, it would be too much of a sacrifice to go to anything else...

but if you tied my hands, i guess it would be one of these:
1. Lexus GX 460/70
2. Toyota Land Cruiser
2. Subaru Forester or XV Crosstrek (idk how long that would last though i love the 4runners spacious interior)

thats about all i can think of right now... it would be tough for me to transition to something else... i am pretty attached to my 4RUNHER... :driving::love:

My criteria for a vehicle is the same now as when I bought my first 4runner......so, another 4runner (SUV, a couple of years old, low mileage, 4x4).
