What would you do?

Yes Doc, I am aware of that, that is why I described it as the "Backbone" of the dealership,

I will try to keep this short plain and simple, the Service department (part of the dealership) and the main source of income is the main part of a dealership marketing,

Okay Doc your tracking with me, service dept is part of the marketing, why do you go to market,? to sell stuff,

Here read this,
At Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. (TMS), we take pride in what the Toyota name represents—innovation, quality and reliability. From our associates and dealers to our suppliers and customers, our devotion to constant improvement results in an exceptional line of cars and trucks.

TMS, Toyota’s U.S. sales and marketing arm, oversees sales and other operations in 49 states.

Over see sales and other operations, the other operations would be the service,

so no big ramble there, we are on the same page Doc, unless you dont feel the service dept that keeps the lights on is "Marketing"

Ponder, research, TMS Supervises dealer marking, and service is main part,

Sorry, but you're completely off base. Service has nothing to do with marketing. If anything, Sales can be considered related to marketing.

Do you have any business sense at all? Have you ever had any sort of management position? I'm guessing that you haven't, based upon your total lack of knowledge about how a business like a dealership operates.

I guess my final comment on this is - recommendations for service are just that. However when you surround your recommendation with material lies derived from the service I pay for (inspection and measurement), you are one step from fraud. The remaining step is to inflict loss based on this previous act.

In hindsight I probably would have been smarter to film a professional measuring the brakes and then send the car in for a full brake job at dealer 1 - pads, rotors, shims and even the timing belt I need. Maybe order some new tires.

I could just point them to my youtube video when it came to paying.

That would have been classic!

This latest thought points to a missed opportunity. :redbrick:

Oh well!

Seriously, stop crying about it already. You're not the first person who was ever treated dishonestly at a car dealership and you certainly won't be the last. If you truly believe this was fraud, then stand up for your rights and sue the dealership. You'll get nowhere, but at least you'll stand up for yourself in principal, right?

LOL, people like you make the worst customers ever...never happy no matter what happens.

Well...just comes back to the old cliche...if you want it done right, do it yourself.

So, grab a book and some tools...get your hands dirty...bust a knuckle or two...curse like a sailor...have a beer...repeat...

Okay, If you would have posted @ least one thing in this entire thread that remotely would give advise to Tech Jockey with his brake situation I would not have suspected you as a clown

So either your working for the "Darkside" of Toyota information services or just like to post stupid pictures, of sad pandas, unicorns, and little kittys playing with thread,

according to your profile, a 21 year old kid, Well laugh if you want but propagandist with much the same profile, working for Toyota information services post mis leading information , I have proof of that much,

So why dont you post up some info that will help tech jockey one way or another, than to just post up your stupid pictures,

I got my eye on you and you have posted nothing but crap, so post up some decent information or shut the hell up and get they hell out of here,

Your impeding my deprogramming of Rixxer, distracting him,

I think you should take your own advice and apply it to another thread.

Your way out of line Frank.

I completely agree, why do we tolerate these threads all degenerating into spam attacks by a not so "covert" vendor trying to sell some "mystery grease" that isn't applicable to almost ALL of our trucks? All while he randomly slams our vehicles, the dealers, the manufacture, the service procedures and new and old members here.

This thread should have been over on the second page... A dealer tech made a mistake and mis-measured a brake pad by the thickness of a dime... oh ah oo... My bet is that one tech actually measured it and other eyeballed it... again oh ah oo... not like this doesn't happen every day.

This wasn't a fraud, this was a mistake. Take note of which dealer was right, which was more careful and precises and take the truck their from now on. The sloppy dealer will figure out his problem when all of his customers have left.

I now return you to yet another completely pointless discussion about #0 #1 #2 grease.

You don't even have to switch shops.
Once you find a person AT the shop you know is good, you can ask for them specifically.

Well Doc, I disagree, And think I am definitely on base, and just dont think your looking @ the big picture,
Now @ a Typical dealership you have Sales, Service, and Parts retail, and as you pointed out the Service dept brings in the majority of the income,

So without the service, no backing or support for the sales, Parts dept ? I Imagine they hold there own, So typically the dealership is a Sole proprieatership, all under 1 Boss man,

Its all one cohesive unit, without the sales, no Rigs to fix, without the service no money to sell the Rigs,

If you understand that the service keeps the dealership making operational expenses so they can Market and Sell rigs, this is on the Top of the agenda, For Toyota Sales, and if they can devise ways for the service dept to make more money, they will, So they can spend the money advertising, having free hot dogs and hamburgers on a Sat, whatever,

I know how it works @ a dealership, all one big team, from the service, sales and parts, usually owned by 1 person,

And Toyota Motor Sales ltd, The "Arm of Toyota sales" how they but it, is hooked to the Back bone of the dealership, Service,

Cool,

I want to go to your shop Rix, specifically ask for you, and do the brakes,

What shop is this ?

I think your a great mechanic, tech whatever you want to call it, just been mis informed on some things,

I think if you come near me I'll file a harassment suit and get a restraining order.
I want nothing to do with you in person frank.
I've said before, and I'll say again, you're NOT welcome around me.

I have NOT been misinformed on anything, YOU misinformed YOURSELF.
You should stay in your crappy little shop in idaho.

So using that logic, Service controls Sales. That's exactly the opposite of what you said earlier.

After all, Service is the bread winner and Sales plays second fiddle. That much we agree upon...

Wow, Neat,

Oh my, a restraining order ? file harassment suit? No no Rixxer I am your "Exit counselor" I am not going to kidnap you to deprogram you,

Would be easier thats for sure, You work @ a Toyota dealership, I can bring a rig to you and specifically ask you to work on it,

And there is nothing you can do about it, Nothing,

While I could easily build a case against you for your slanderous remarks. I wont if I did that with anybody it would be Kurt Williams, I would guess he has deeper pockets,

LOGIC HAS NO PLACE IN frank's WORLD.

I can refuse, offer evidence as to why, and that'll be the end of THAT.

Seems I still have a threat you made saved somewhere too.....

Doc, its not as much as who brings in the bacon persay but that it is all 1 unit
Sales ,Service Parts,

What roles they play,? who makes the most money,? one hand washes the other, its all 1 dealership owned by 1 dude or dudette

Controlled by the Long arm of Toyota motor Sales Ltd,

But yes Doc the service makes the dough ,

A treat ?

I can refuse, offer evidence as to why, and that'll be the end of THAT.

Seems I still have a threat you made saved somewhere too.....

Oh?? whats that,? a threat ? scary ? I am spooked, a threat huh ?

wow, like I am going to drag you from the clutches of Toyota Sales Cult,

kicking and screaming,,

No I am going to find a factory filled axle, Take it to your shop, request you work on it, not for axle work but for something else

Then The brake work will get done, or whatever, You will write on the work order the axle is leaking, and needs axle seals,

I will accept the repair, but request that you actually add oil dye to the third member to confirm that it is axle seal failure,

And for you to test it till the dye shows up in the supposed leaking knuckle,

Hows that ? never did that did you ?

Never Confirmed the complaint, assumed, your in trouble Rixxer Get out while you can

You need to understand the difference between Toyota Motor Company and Toyota Sales. Once you understand that, then you might be able to speak intelligently on this subject. But before that's possible, you also have to understand that Toyota dealerships are not owned, nor operated, by Toyota Motor Company.

,

Actually, there is something that he could do about it. He could simply tell the Service Advisor (or the Service Manager) that he knows you and that you have something against him. Trust me, they wouldn't even let him work on your vehicle if he said that.

And besides, customers can only request a specific tech, but that request can easily be declined.

You really have no clue about how car dealerships work, huh?

i saw frank walking down the street the other day and he struck a pose.

Wow, Doc, "Master of the Obvious"

Been trying to point that out and many many folks dont seem to get that one,

2 different companies, Toyota production and Toyota motor sales,

Evidently you didnt read the "New grease for solid axle thread"

"But before that's possible, you also have to understand that Toyota dealerships are not owned, nor operated, by Toyota Motor Company."

Right ,

Toyota Motor Company is in Japan build rigs,

Toyota Motor Sales ltd, I understand this quite well Doc, but is I am glad you point this out as well,
