What would you replace your 4runner with?

I sell Subaru in Mpls, if you are looking for an 08 or 09 Outback and don't want the 100k hassle find a 6 cyl Outback (Chain, not belt) or XT Outback (no weak head gasket, but a belt) If spending 12-15k you are going to be getting one with around 100k on it, try to get timing belt done before buying

I almost bought an Outback instead of the 4r. They are quite nice. I really like the 08 09 models. My biggest concern with those are the Head Gaskets, Timing Belt, struts and CV joints that all seem to go at 100k. I actually just saw one with all of that replaced for $10k, but I will never get another black vehicle.

What do people think about the Pontiac Vibe? Like a Matrix but different styling. Small, yet seats fold down for good storage. Pretty efficient and it's a Toyota engine and drivetrain. Available in 4wd too.

Well as long as you have the Rav4 and you dont need anything larger, and still wanted to get rid of the 4Runner, I would get a replacement with good gas mileage. Honda dealers are having incredible deals right now on the hybrid Insight model as they are discontinuing and will not make them anymore. I just bought one! I wasnt planning on it but my wifes 2008 CRV was having questionable tourque converter shudders on occasion and needed new brakes and tires. It also had 175K on it and a new front end thanks to my daughter smashing it in. I was doing drain and fills every 20K on it and had it into the dealer for some service when they offered me 6500 for it! I didnt plan on trading it in but then I saw a new 2014 Insight EX with Navigation with a MSRP of 24,700. I offered 20,000 and they took it along with giving me the 6500 off for the CRV. So for 14,000 out the door price- My wife is loving her new ride and I am loving the 44 plus MPG!. Next winter I will put a set of studded snow tires on it for her but I have to say it does pretty good right now with the stability assist. Since I have the AWD 4Runner we both can use that if we really need to since we both have option to work from home on bad days. I would look into the Insight. A guy in my area just bought a leftover new 2013 Insight EX for only 15000 out the door!

No to the vibe! Unless you get the 6 speed gt which has the celica motor in it, but again its also a pontiac and other replacement parts, interior/exterior will start being harder and harder to find thus the cheap prices all pontiacs are going for. . .well besides the g8............damn I want a g8 gt
