When I was younger my parents had a next door neighbor that asked me once how many miles I had on my car at the time.
I told him 90K. He looked at me, smiled, laughed and said
"Your car is not even broken in yet. Come see me once you have 400-500K miles on it".
This coming from a man who had a Chevy truck that had over 700K on it at the time. He eventually donated the truck to his church.
At the time he donated it, the truck had approximately 1.2 Million miles on it.
Not a pretty sight to see but that damn truck just kept on running.

I will never forget learning how to drive a stick shift on that truck when I was 16. Gotta love the old Chevy 3 speed stick on the column. :D

2005-30,000miles

HAHA! I remember my old 78 chevy I had in high school (in '99) Ran like a champ, but what a pile. I had the 3-speed on the column too, But I re-fabricated it to 3 on the floor. I was too cheap to buy a shifter so I just welded an old wrench to the linkage. I'm startin' to miss that old pig.......

Back in the day, we affectionately referred to the column-mounted shifter as "three on the tree" when talking about a truck equipped like that.

When I was in high school (25+ years ago), there were some cars with three-speed manual transmissions...........including Mustangs, Camaros and even a Chevy Nova or Biscayne (stripped down Impala). Some GM cars of that vintage also had the indestructible two-speed "Powerglide" automatic. Those things just would not die!

Technology is nice, but those cars were easy to work on and you could fix them with basic tools, two friends and a six-pack of cheap beer.
:bigok:

I don't think there was any other engine like the 250-inch Chevrolet "straight six" engine of the late 1960s to the late 1970s. As with the Powerglide, they just never would die. They did not even have a timing chain; as they were gear to gear!
:D

Thanks for the walk down memory lane!

2005 Limited V8, 4x4

Less than 18,000 miles so far, mainly because I live close enough to my job to ride my bike to work (2.5 miles).

Bought 2 years ago with 49k
Only problem so far is the A/C relay went out.

2005, Bought 5/05, Just turned 54,000 with zero issues. Of course this morning I had to hit the sunroof button about 3 times to get it to close. Yea, im a bit nervous about that one.

'07 with under 10K

'07 with just under 10K miles. Bought it in July '07. Not bad, but I want to average about 12K/year.
