What's my '99 limited worth?

Stuck on what direction to go with my 4runner... I want to get into more serious off roading, but this one has too nice of paint and a straight body.. Considering selling it and buying something more best on. Looking for thoughts on how much it's worth. Was purchased from a Toyota dealership manager, who has 3 other 4runners with various mods done. Here's the breakdown of it:

1999 Limited 4x4. No e locker.
225,000 miles(going up, it's a daily driver)
-Timing done
-Water pump/thermostat done
-Newer brakes
-New Front axles
-lifted 3"-4" by previous owner
-New Front struts
-Few different bushings replaced
-New plugs/wires
-PCV valve and vacuum lines replaced.
-New fuel filter
- front/rear diff fluids changed 5k miles ago
-Toyota Sport hood purchased new and painted to match at the dealership
-badges painted along with hood insert
-HIDs installed in headlights
-CBI ditch light brackets with 6 LED lights
-rear flood light mounted to rear bumper
-newer battery
-new battery terminals
-Fumoto oil valve installed(got tired of cleaning off the skids)
-replaced front section of positive battery cable
-aftermarket roof rack(forget the brand)
- Drifter Style CB mount on the left taillight
- secondary fuse block with 7 terminals. HIDs, front and rear aux lights are wired through this with fuseable links
-Kenwood double din radio
-blue LED dash light mod
-scanguage II mounted to the dash
-set of factory skids which I believe are off an SR5
-parts of undercarriage have been coated.

Problems:
-front bumper paint is dented and paint is peeling
-front skid is bent from doing what it is supposed to
-front seat leather is worn and torn in a few places


I would trust this truck to take me anywhere. I've driven it fully loaded on 8 hour trips doing 75-80 mph with zero issues. Everything on the truck works. AC, heat, power windows, locks, rear window, power seats. Paint is in great shape, no peeling, fading, or cracking. Has a few small chips/scrapes from branches, but nothing you can see from more than a foot away. I'll get some pictures of the inside and other panels tomorrow. What would yall say it's worth? Trying to decide if it would be better to build something else up instead of this one. I have an idea in my mind of what i would need to get out of it to actually make me want to sell it.

They go for more than that in central texas, try closer to 6500-8500. You can Always negotiate down....that's what I'd ask but not what I'd do. Luck. :cowboy:

didnt realize they brought that much in central texas... might have to post it up on the austin craigslist instead of dallas craigslist. thanks for the info!
 
The aftermarket stuff takes away from the "too clean to wheel" image IMO. Take that stuff off and maybe do a paint matched rattle can job on the front bumper and you could possibly increase the amount money you'll get. Remember, people spend the big cash on stock trucks.

I totally get you. Legit. But it'll bring decent cash in central Texas. I can post it in the fb page for central Texas for $6k and it won't last too long.

Good to know. I'll have to take some pictures tomorrow and make a Craigslist ad for it. Sounds like I can get what I want out of it
 
I don't understand why you're selling it. You want something capable off road? Isn't that what this is? Maybe just put a locker on it.

This is capable off road. but the past couple times ive had it on the trails, there has been stuff i didnt attempt because i dont want to tear up the body when its in as good of shape as it is.... just thinking that i could sell it, buy a cheaper one in worse shape, and have money left over for parts.

The dented front bumper is a pretty big deal for someone paying decent money for a rig, IMO.
That being said- if it's rust-free, interior is clean, and the front bumper/skid was fixed- it would go for about $6k here in Oregon. Like I said, the front end is real noticeable. Unless someone was already planning on doing an armor bumper, it might take it down to more like $5- 5,500.

I think if you are doing this to save a couple thousand bucks you might be disappointed. A cheaper one is probably going to have mechanical problems of some kind which will cost $ to fix and then you'll be back to even or worse. Bodywôrk can be fixed. Clear coat can be buffed.

I agree. If you were ditching the T4R to get a Tacoma and you planned to make the doors removable and do a tubed Truggy type concept or you were planning to buy a dual locked and deep geared tcased Jeep or similar, then it would make sense (though getting anything more than the base beat-to-death vehicle for even a few hundred less than $6K, ain't going to happen)....and then the real money pit would start....not only just doing regular maintenance, but then the mod budget.
 
Everyones truck starts out clean. Don't baby yours sell it and buy someone else's they beat to shit. Just put some protection on yours and if you dent it then whatever. No worse than buying one someone else dented

Depending on how it's lifted, I'd be willing to pay $6k for it, if I was looking.... which I'm not. JK, I'm always looking. I'd say keep it, my lifted locked 97 keeps up with anyone that's not sas'd and locked.
