Whats the biggest thing you have towed/moved with your truck?

So last week we had to put the water ski jump ramp in the lake so my team ca practice. Well no one was there with a fullsize truck or 4wd. So we used mine. I have no idea how big it is or how heavy. Rough guess 25-30ft long ~10-12ft wide. Truck handled the load great. What crazy stuff have you moved with your truck?

I'll bite.

No pics at the moment, but a 23ft Sea Craft boat, 225 Yamaha engine with an additional 500 lbs of gas, gear, etc. I did it without the Tundra brake upgrade the first time and needed new rotors afterwards. With the Tundra upgrade, no problem. Then I bought a Tundra, which made the boat much more controllable to tow.

I had a Girlfriend whos BFF maxed the GVW everytime we took her with us. :lmao:
But she wouldn't fit in the back seat and apparently it was rude to ask her to get in the hatch...So she would sit up front with me.

Helped my dad tow our old yota van to the junk yard on a tow dolly. Probly a good 8-10 miles away. Towed it nice and easy! Have pics but gotta find them first ha

I put 1 ton of landscaping block in the back of my runner... and blew my third member. Yeah, a ton is 2000lbs... cool huh?

I went to pick my kid up from summer camp in the mountains in my Brazilian '97 HiLux SW4 (aka Surf). The road in was just a single lane dirt track that was soft in the low spots due to rain. The whole road was blocked by a full-size bus (not a school bus) that was supposed to take many of the kids back down to São Paulo (those that the parents did not pick up themselves).

The road was kind of humpty-dump and the bogeys were on a hump keeping the drive wheels in the air. I convinced the driver and the camp director to give my rig a shot. I went off road around all the line of parents cars behind the bus and hitched my strap to its front hook. I loaded the SW4 to the gills with counselors for weight and pulled forward in 4L. Buttah! It only needed about six feet for the drive wheels to bite. We were the heroes of the send-off. A hundred and fifty kids and lots of parents were cheering wildly when that puppy moved.

Here's my latest load hauled with my 'Runner:

I hauled a load of firewood home - with O/D off and ECT on, and set the cruise for 55 MPH - the 'Runner handled it like a champ! I'm very impressed with it!

I pulled a fully loaded 6x10 enclosed trailer (1 BR apartment worth of stuff, motorcycle, and tool chest) from Minnesota to Oregon. It seemed to pull just fine and I cleared a whopping 10mpg. About a year later, my buddy was driving that 4Runner and lost control on an icy MT bridge... put it right into a bridge guard-rail and totalled it. Fairly lucky to be alive and uninjured.

Fast forward a few months and I got a new 4Runner. Later that summer, I towed a 4x6(?) trailer full of similar stuff from Oregon to Colorado (all the way along the coast to Santa Barbara, then Joshua Tree, then Vegas, then Zion, then Moab/Arches, then Fort Collins) and it drove great! No noticeable impact to mileage or anything, which was lucky cause I was really winging it; amazing everything made it through the 120F desert heat in July. I have some pics of that trip somewhere...

Towed another 96 4runner on a rented dolly from u-haul. Traveled about 10 miles on the interstate and 20 miles on some country roads with no major problems. Braking was a little sketchy on my stock warped rotors but that was expected. Should be uprading to Tundra calipers this week.

Yeah, I should have mentioned I kept a lot of attention on the next car/stopped thing so I could always come to an easy stop. A couple of times I had to get on the brakes and it was EXCITING (in a not-so-good way). My stock rotors held up through the trip(s) though.

I did parallel park the rig+trailer in SF though, which was awesome. :guitar2:

I pulled my brother's 10K lbs. 1952 Ford tractor with backhoe attachment from a boat ramp up a steep road to a parking lot. He told me about the flat tire on the rear wheel after we were done.

Will not do that again.

Back in the day, my dad used to cut the grass for the factory he worked at and I'd tag along on the weekends to help.

Single Axle Karavan trailer with a Toro riding mower, Toro push mower, a trimmer, and a few miscellaneous things. So about 1200lb tops.
