What's the Latest & Greatest on 4th gen skid plates

After 16 yrs of ownership I've decided to replace my skids plates.

I've searched, and am leaning towards the full Shrockworks set (I have their front bumper, and Hanna sliders), or maybe BudBuilt, or even go aluminum with RCI although RCI doesn't appear to have gas tank skids.

Has anyone with OCD gone down this rabbit hole lately? If so, whay did you chose and why, and would you make the same choice, or buy something different.

I have a full set of RCI Aluminum including the Fuel Tank Skid. I went with Aluminum for less weight but these are still heavy duty. Next I want to add RCI's rear diff skid, I am also running BAMF full steel front LC skids.

Have they developed the rest of their package? Last I checked they only had the front for the 4th gen

I have the V8 and the oil filter is a PITA to change in its stock location, requires front skid to be dropped.

I may be leaning towards a skid with the little door for filter access.

Not that this is any help since I believe they're no longer in business(?), but I have the Rocksteady aluminum skids and a V8. I'm able to sneak a large pair of channel locks up there if the filter is a hair tight and then use some plastic or cardboard to form a funnel into the drain pan.

This is surely possible with most skids :shrug:

I've been looking at getting RCI skids for my mall crawler... maybe one day to leave pavement.

Is dissimilar metal corrosion a concern with the aluminum skids on a steel frame? Is the powder coat enough to electrically isolate the AL from the steel? Has anyone seen this as a problem on a truck?

Seems like alu+steel need a salt solution to rust?
Wheels are alu and the mounting hub face is steel.

I have not noticed any extra rust with a rear alu bumper, is powder coated.
Not tons of salt where i live though.

People around here are huge fans of the coastal offroad armour. Its a weld together kit but Im sure you could get a fabricator to weld it up for you. It has a lot of well thought out features like and oil drain hole and reinforcing ribs.

I have RCI skids plus the one for the gas tank. They are solid.

Another vote for RCI Aluminum. A local guy dropped his Tundra on a set and they were no worse for wear other than gouges. Biggest limitation of aluminum is if you regularly scrape your belly over sharp stuff.

I've had some rattle issues with the v8 exhaust, but as bests I can tell LFD is the only one that has a design to avoid that.
