I was having the issue. Took to the dealer, they updated the software, no issues since. This was 6 months ago or so.
Have you tried updating the software? I haven't had any issues since I updated several months ago.

I had the same issue with my dealer. As far as the update, I'm not sure what to tell you. I started with a freshly formatted USB and followed Toyota's directions step by step. It worked the first time I tried it. The head unit has worked like a champ since I did the update.
I have been having this issue since I got mine in 14'. Last trip to the dealer I asked them to update Entune and they said it would cost $150. I said no way and argued with the guy until I was so annoyed I just didn't want to talk to him anymore. Was the rudest service adviser I'd ever dealt with but that's not saying much since 99% of them aren't helpful at all.
Decided to do the update myself but when I plug in the flash drive and go to run the update the screen says cannot run update while USB in progress.
I'd love to figure this out since it is pretty annoying having to hold the main button down and reset every time.
Are you referring to the issue where entune freezes and you have to turn the car off to get it backs. Otherwise it will keep rebooting.
I’m at a dealership now for a scheduled maintenance. They said it is not a known issue and I need to pay for diagnostics. If there is a self service method, I am all for that. Thanks

No need to restart the vehicle. Press and hold the power/volume knob for 5-10 seconds. This will cause the head unit to reboot.
This is a totally self-service item. See the link I posted earlier in the thread. No way I would pay the dealer to do the update.

mine really only happens when I am plugging in my iphone (when it happens most) or rarely during Bluetooth. Anyone with the same symptoms?
