What’s the latest on head unit freeze

I updated my mine a year ago and still get the freezes. I can reset it but its still annoying.

Mine had been fine after an update about a year ago. Then the other day I plugged an iPhone into the USB and played music through it for a few minutes...it did a self reboot soon after. Now when I start up the car it is slow to boot up, and sometimes hangs on a blank screen until I push the home button.

No luck after the dealership “fixed it.” I can confirm that holding the power button till it cycles works to temporarily resolve the issue. I no longer need to pull over and turn the car off to fix.

Head unit freeze

My 14 is freezing up like all the rest. R ad thru many links but many are old with various solutions.

Is there a definitive answer now before I call the dealer? Thank you.

My dealer techs said their were no updates. I showed my regular ‘guy’ at the dealer the thread on the update and he took the car to another one of their non toyota dealers. They did the update and all is perfect.
