I guess if one could find the SOS replacement switch then it could be labeled SOS, but be for something else cool like grille-mounted rockets, rear firing oil slicks, or to drop thumbtacks. Gotta keep those villains off our t(r)ail!!!

But seriously I'd use that area. Could be cool for an aftermarket lightbar switch if one has a bar roof-mounted.

Agreed. I haven’t had luck with the SOS switch search. Found a few OHC’s with them but I’m not paying 140 bucks for a console to pull the switch out.
 
I've got a '15 Limited and it doesn't have that button...is there an option package I'm lacking, or is this for US models only (I'm in Canada), pre-facelift models only, or what gives?
 
I just wanted the blank, but apparently that's the only switch blank that you can't buy. Kind of stupid. I don't know why they didn't just make that switch the same size and shape as every other switch in the truck instead of having it be some lone special snowflake.

I have already been down this path and I can tell you there is no switch currently being made by an aftermarket company for this switch location.

The Toyota part number you are looking for is #86750-35010 and I can already tell you don't waste your money. I got the factory switch and it doesn't function like your typical SPDT switches as you would hope. There's (5) wires of which 3 are LED hot wires, a ground, and what appears to be communication leg back to the computer system. Therefore, in my opinion the switch alone cannot be used for external switching but was only used as indication and input into the SOS system.

I am currently trying to get a buddy with a 3D printer to use the mold of the switch to create a SPDT to match the mounting and dimensions. Other than that the best use of the space is to just drill a hole and place a simple toggle switch.

I can provide photos later, I am just at work currently.
 
As promised here's the photos of the SOS switch. Like I stated earlier it just plugs into the homelink PC board and it purely input/output from the system.




 
I am mounting a volt meter for my distribution system here to manage my battery volts/ accessory amps.

Yes, you can buy an overhead console from Toyota that has the homelink in..If I recall it's like $150...looked at getting one not long after purchasing my 4R, but decided I could live without it.
 
Anyone know of any USB ports that would fit where the blank is for the SOS button? I'm looking to plug in my GoPro while on adventures. Any help would be appreciated.
