ATF Temp (Trans Temp) on Torque Pro

Hey all!

I've been trying to get the trans Temp to work on Torque Pro with a custom PID I've found online.

I'm using the following details:

PID=21D9
Minimum value= 0
Max value = 300
OBD header= blank
Start command = blank
Stop command = blank
Equation = (((((G*256)+H)*(7/100))-400)/10)

The result it gives is -41.8. Anyone know if Im making a mistake? I've gotten this to work before, but accidentally deleted the custom PID and haven't been able to get it working since I re added the PID. Im using an ELM327 Bluetooth adaptor on an android phone - Galaxy S21

I haven't entered these PIDs in years, but everything you have entered looks correct. All I can add is make sure your in the correct temperature format of fahrenheit, not celsius.

Forgot to mention that one... I do have Unit type set to F. I ordered a different obd2 adapter and will be trying that today to see if that's the issue. Will report back!

New adapter came. It turns out, for whatever reason, that was the issue. I got a VEEPEAK adapter and trans temp works now

The other thing I noticed was on my 4th Gen, I can only pull pan temps. On my 2012 5th gen I have pan and torque converter temps (fluid exit to cooler). Same transmission, just 10 years newer. I never could figure that one out.

Strange......I get both pan & TC temps on my 07.

What App are ya'll using that could be why it's different?

Are it could be different for a 2003 or a 2007.

I'm using Torque Pro and I have always suspected my 03' being a pre CANbus 4Runner was the reason I couldnt ever find a PID for it. Isnt the 05 and up when the CANbus was implemented?

I believe that maybe the case from what I've read.
