Hey guys, my 4runner makes a pulley type creaking/squeaking noise. Here's a video. Water pump has about 50k on it. You can hear it inside too sometimes. https://youtu.be/cnEIgohv3Ek

You should get a mechanics stethoscope and listen near all the pulleys to figure out if it's one of them. If it's not not the fan, alternator, power steering or AC pulleys, it could be one of the idler pulleys behind the timing cover.
It also sounds like it could be a cracked flex plate. Cracked flex plates make a noise similar to that until it cracks all the way through. You can inspect the flex plate by taking the inspection cover off the bottom of the bellhousing. It's 4 10mm bolts.

I'm thinking some kind of pulley as well. It's done it ever since I bought it. Dealer maintained since new and was taken to Toyota right before I bought it. Totally clean report except a rear axle seal. Truck has 241k miles on it now, i've owned it about a year. I don't think the ac was on in the video but it doesn't make a difference: my compressor is dead quiet but the noise is there all the time.
Oh dang. I've heard of the cracked flexplate issues before. now that you mention it, i have just an ever so slight vibration that increases with RPM and not speed, but only from 30-50mph or so and it's very slight. I always just thought it was due to all poly bushings. It really is extremely slight, I'm pretty anal but I've never thought it may be anything wrong. I'll have to take the cover off and check. I'll try that, thank you! Definitely sounds like it's coming from the very front and not the center like would be a bad flexplate, thankfully. It's an auto
