whats up, just got my 4runner as a first car

i feel really lucky to have such a great first car. just got it yesterday

its an 03 4runner sr5 v8, impulse red pearl... we found it at the dealership with 25k miles, and my dad pushed it a little bit for a great price

anyway i came to the forum to check stuff out, see if there were any aftermarket mods i could be interested in. so if theres anything you guys suggest, just post it here.

next ill be building up my audio system though, so ill see how that goes.

just have to look around for mods now.

what do you guys think of TRD stickers? i kind of like them, but im wondering if they come off as tacky at all, im not sure. if i got a sticker soon, thats the only kind of thing i think id put on for now.

How about a lift and some bumpers if your into that kind of $tuff.

You can do some little things to give it that custom look for minimal coin. Yank off the running boards, make the little lights on the rear bumper functional, add some wheel spacers, tint it down add a spoiler.

I think that's a rare color - I like it. I am also anti sticker.

yeah id love a lift, i just doubt the parents would be happy with it ahah.
thats a nice idea on the spoiler, i just think its gonna be a little hard to get it painted to 'impulse red pearl'

Congrats, never seen that color in person. It was a one year color available only in 2003. I like the unpainted flares.

wha-wha-what!?! You mean the reflectors? How do you do that? I'd love to make those reflectors functional lights. Also whats your mpg like with that lift and tires? I'm lookin' at maybe a 1-2inch lift cause I'm short 5'7. And secondly...thats a kick ass runner on your part.

When the tires wear out, replace them with a larger and more aggressive set. A cheap way to get good looks and better off road (and maybe onroad, too) performance.
Lots of 4Runners run BFG All-terrains.

My first vehicle was a 4Runner too.... kind of.... Except mine was an '88 and I was lent it two years ago. Then I bought my own car. (Yay '90 SR5 Corolla) and recently traded the car to my parents for the truck (because of Prince George winters)

Congrats on the 4Runner. The 4Runner was my first car to, im still 16, I turn 17 in March. Enjoy your 4Runner and the best thing I put in my 4Runner was XM satellite radio; I couldn't go without it now just something I would look into if I were you.

i've never seen one on the forum nor on the road. on very rare occasions i'll see an '03 in the dark green (on the road) but never the red.

That red looks alot better than Salsa red. Indeed rare as already stated, and don't forget to have fun. Your truck is not even broken in yet lol.
