So I got my new wheels ( 5th gen 17" ) and tires ( duratracs ) mounted up. I didn't have time to balance them myself so just ran them down to discount and had them done. Since then I have had a shimmy in the front end I can feel in the steering wheel. So, my question is what is the normal acceptable max weight to put on a wheel ? I see 170gr ( 6 oz ) on the inner edge and 150 grams(5.4oz) of tape on weights near the outer edge. This seems to me to be a lot of weight considering the other wheel doesn't have near that on it. Also , the weights are almost , but not completely , opposite of each other on the circumference of the wheel. So this weekend I will go and balance them myself but just wanted an idea of what's what. Maybe I need to rotate the tire on the rim? Idk. This vibration was not felt prior to this switch. Granted I had the winter tires ( soft) on before this , so the ride isn't nearly as good in general but there is something amiss. Thanks for your time everyone.
