Wheel hub assembly?

You'll have to bear with Grave, he can be a little gruff at times but I beleive it's because since he pets every dog he most likely has been bitten a few times...But he means well!!

XREAS is a Toyota optional upgraded suspension/shock system that has the shocks interconnected so that when one wheel moves it affect the opposing shock in a fashion to give a more stabile ride, it's a great system but when it gets old and starts leak fluid and needs replacing it is very expensive, so most replace it with a regular shock setup.

Ah, good thing you told me about XREAS! I was going to post another thread asking what it was :wink2:

Hello all,

Did a little research in the forums and a little research myself and found that my passenger side wheel bearing is shot. The notorious vibrating that increases with speed, along with a slight pull to the right. The sound would go away when turning to the left, but would get worse when turning to the right. Jacked the front end up and checked for grinding noise/wobble on both sides. Driver side had no grinding or wobble what so ever. Passenger side had pretty significant wobble in every direction.

I know that its fairly simply to install these bearings since they come pressed in a hub assembly, ready to go. My question is, who has done this and what assembly did you use? Ideally, id get the assembly from bluepitbearings.com as I'm pretty sure its OE, but I'm not really in the position to be spending 280 bucks on it. I will, of course, if I have to, but I've noticed cheaper options. I just don't want to gamble and purchase a cheap-o and have some problem down the line.

A quick search on google for "4th gen 4runner wheel hub assembly" will give you some options. What do you think?

Thanks

Took my hubs and new bearings to a friend of mine's machine shop and pressed them in myself. Much cheaper than buying the kit, but it did take time

got mine in a week. I heard he was banned from tacoma world because he didn't want to pay to be a vendor.

Maybe that was part of it but people had other issues just reading toward the end of the original thread on TW.

Wheel Bearings/Hubs 4x4 & 4x2 PreRunner for sale *complete* save $$ CUSTOM BUILT AVAILABLE | Tacoma World

The mods over there don’t just outright ban someone because they don’t want to become a vendor. Plenty of unofficial vendors selling things over there.

There had also been a history of some vendors going awol over on TW too which is why the mods do get defensive over a hint of a vendor all the sudden not following up on orders.

Ordered from Jersey and it’s been over a week they still can’t provide a tracking number. Very bad customer service. Just an warning and heads up

Just a reminder, but you might not know this since he's no longer on this forum, but the guy who is Jersey Hubs does these hubs as a side line to his normal job and usually builds them as they are ordered....so if he had other orders ahead of you that would be a day or a few, also even if he built them as soon as you ordered them that could take up to a week for them to get to you.

That being said I agree that he should state this on his website, send a approximate due date as soon as he gets a order and should provide a tracking number, other than that he seems to be a good guy trying to earn an extra buck and you shouldn't be worried about not getting them, they will get to you some time soon if he's not too backlogged.

I contacted him after a week went by and he said they were going to ship that day and tracking would be provided. 2 days later and 2 additional emails with no response smh. I’m just giving my experience and I I’m sure others have had good one but good luck with anyone who decides to order from him. Sorry for the negative first post but thought the community needed the info.

That explains your issue much better and I agree he should follow up with what he told you, and yes I would agree that you did a good thing to let others know, I hope he reads this and gets better at customer service, he's only hurting his business otherwise!
