Wheel / Spacer / Tire question for the experts

So I have a stock 2013 trail 4R that I love. I really like the 305 NV method wheels I've seen many of you all run. They're wider by an inch than the stock wheels. I'm wanting a wider stance for a bit more stability and am wondering if I stuck with the stock size (I assume that's what the 17x8.5 wheel would call for, yes?) Would I be better off getting spacers at the same time? Would it rub at stock sizes? Thinking of just getting the boring BFG K02.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Been pouring through old threads and the sticky but can't quite find the answer.

Heres the long answer..

spaacers are a bit of work. do you have a jack/ stands, sockets, bars, a torque wrench, and the time to pop the wheels off every 100 miles to check to torque of the spacers and wheel lugs? (once they stop untorqing you can increase the mileage to 3-4000 miles).

do you have the mind to express to anyone who may be taking your wheels off to NOT USE AN IMPACT and make sure they dont forget.

if you do then go for it..

i got spidertrax 1.25, they were ok for stance.. better than stock but to me not impressive. i upgraded to Wheel Adapter USA brand 1.5. they gave me about 1/4 outside the flares, perfect bulldog look.

If you plan to run 1.5 on the front you will need longer factory studs. which can open problems if you decide to take the spacers off, the studs will be too long for the lug nuts, youll need open ended lug nuts to accommodate...or go back to factory spec lugs.

Get the 305's and a 275-17 BFG.......it will look nice and you can always go to spacers afterwards if you want. May need to trim some liner with spacers.
