Wheel Spacers for 265/75-16 and 2" Lift?

I just put new Goodyear Duratracs on my stock wheels, and ordered Old Man Emu springs to give me a 2 inch lift.

Aside from the running boards getting the back of my leg dirty every time I get out (opinions - should I remove them?), The wheels seem tucked under the wheel wells and look like they would benefit from 1" spacers to push them out a little bit.

Without getting into the typical debate about wheel spacers, what is the good size spacer to push the wheels out a little bit and not have to grind down the studs? I think someone once said that 1 1/4" is the smallest size you can go without having to grind down the studs.

Also, will this cause my tires to rub the edges of the fenders?

1.25 should be fine. Make sure you purchase hub centric wheel spacers.

Interesting, that my truck has flares and yours does not. I wonder if the wheels on mine have an offset that pushes them out to match the sides of the players.

Drop the running boards. IMO it looks better, but really like you said, unless you are some weird height, they don't work as a step and simply make you reach out further to get out...or trash your pants.

Did you just order the EMU springs for the stock suspension? Do you have a link to that product?

Take off the running boards, fender flares, and mudflaps. Not only do they make the truck look like poo, they also hinder your clearance.

[MENTION=149425]Pekoe1111[/MENTION] - If you are talking about for looks then yes add the spacers once you lift. IMHO the Limited flares have always looked a bit silly hanging past the tires. When you lift that will be even more noticeable. Is that a 2x4 or 4x4?

If you are asking about more practical reasons for adding spacers that's a different question and you should read the many many posts on the subject and make your choice based on how you build and what you plan to do with it. I run 1.25" Spidertrax and the stance and clearance they offer me are great. Note below how I am set up though.

I guess your running board question will come down to what is convenient for you getting in and out once you lift it. If you are already rubbing your leg that will happen more at + 2". Personally I like those running boards you have so if I wasn't planning to off-road I'd be leaving them on and they help to blend in the big flares you have. If you loose the running boards and keep the flares you probably won't like the look.

But here again, if you are asking about more practical reasoning to take off the running boards and add sliders for example, that is a completely different consideration. Depends if you plan to stay on the pavement or take it off road.

Thanks, Snowden. I also love the green. Just ordered some 1.25" hub centric spacers. Will decide about the running boards once the springs and spacers are on. Tomorrow I will actually try to use the running boards to step in - I'll probably smack my head!
