Wheel spacers making alignment impossible?

The dealer did an alignment on my 4Runner when they were working on the emergency brakes. I had no driving issues before; they said it was due based on mileage.
When I picked up the truck, it pulled to one side. I brought it back, and they f'd around for a few days, and finally told me they could not align it properly because I had wheel spacers on the front.

Is this valid?? Do wheel spacers make aligning difficult or impossible? These are 1.25" hub centric spacers.

Wheel spacers, when properly installed, only push the wheel out further, it doesn't change any angles so I think the shop is just lazy or they have no idea how suspension geometry works.

Maybe because your front wheels stick out further than your back?

Thanks for the reply. So having spacers only on the front could f with the alignment? I don't understand why this would be the case.

I had removed the rear spacers to address the E-brake issues. I told them I would re-install the rear spacers and then bring it back.

It probably wouldn't mess with the alignment but it could effect setting it up on their rack? I have no idea how alignment equipment works.

Frozen LCA bushings probably, they messed with them and now it's messed up.
