Wheel Spacers

Hey everyone, I got a couple quick questions about what people have done for wheel spacers. I am looking to put 18" XD Rockstars and 33" Nitto Mud Grapplers on my 4Runner and I think I am going to put spacers on to help prevent rubbing. I am not sure offsetting the rims will be enough to prevent the rubbing. Anyone have personal experience or an opinion on that? I found three different spacers at 1", 1.25", and 1.5". Would anything over 1" be sufficient or would the 1.25" or 1.5" be needed? I was also wondering what size spacers people had used on their 4Runners and how it has reduced rubbing? Thanks

best thing to do would be to try the wheels and tires before without the spacers. If you set the wheel/tire combo too far out, it could create even more rubbing.

Thanks for the input, so after a lot of researching last night the rims I am look at only come in 0mm offset/5" backspace. I am hoping to maybe find a place that will allow me to put the rims/tires on and see if I will indeed need a spacer. (probably a long shot, but there is a place in the area that has the set up I am looking to buy). Since a -12mm offset equals about 0.5" of space, I am thinking that I will probably need atleast a 0.5" spacer, but would think a 1.25" spacer would be the biggest I would need.

I'm wondering the same thing too. I would like to add some 18" Rockstars, but I'm still unsure what tire to get. Do Rockstars look good with Michelin LTX M/S2's? I wouldn't mind adding Nitto Terra Grapplers if Michelin's look ugly with them on.

Just my opinion after looking at the Michelin LTX M/S2's and the Nitto Terra Grapplers, I would go with the Terra Grapplers but this is just based solely off appearance. As for performance, I would think the Terra would be just as good as the LTX M/S2's and the price may be more expensive (for the Grapplers).
