I have two threads that are a little jacked up at the start of the stud. I suspect the shop that balanced and rotated my tires last time put the lug nuts on without starting them by hand first...

I pulled the wheel over the weekend and cannot get the lug nuts on two of the studs :dammit:

I've used them before on a Jeep I used to have. If you only have a few threads that are messed up you'll be fine with these. I wouldn't try fixing a stud where half the threads are chewed up though. Just remember to use some oil when doing it.

Pretty sure it's just 1 small part of the first thread and this tool would do the trick.

Does anyone know what size/thread I'd need for our 3rd Gens?

You don't need the split die to fix the lug studs, just pick up a cheaper set. If you were using it frequently, I'd maybe consider the split die set, but it seems excessive for the weekend warrior.

I picked up the great neck tap and die sets from autozone (because I was desperate on a late night) and they have actually worked great for several years. The full metric set only cost $30.
