Wheel well trim piece repair question

Just got back into a T4R. Used 16’ with under 13k on it. Very clean. Asked for a small repair to the plastic trim piece over front left wheel well.

Looks like there was a scratch on it and they likely popped it off to repaint. When that occurred the rubber seal that goes around the entire piece I would imagine is not reusable so in the repair it was pretty loose and a noticeable gap. I asked to have it fixed.

Today I pick up and it appears they tried to fix on the cheap and just use double sided tape and not the rubber seal that had been agreed upon. Not to mention there was still a slight gap and play in a spot.

Is it actually possible for them to fix it like from the factory with that rubber seal? Worse yet the guy who fixed it seemed to take my vehicle for a joy ride smoking as there were cigarette ashes all over dash and over a quarter a tank of gas used. Not very happy right now.

Second one you can see the gap and the scratch where they popped it off the side where I assume he used a plastic pry bar deal to NOT scratch it. FAIL. You can push it and there is ton of play. There was lots of play all down the back side, but it appears that tape is holding it tight to the body. Still not happy about the half ass job.

First pic is the right side that you can see the white line that is the black rubber seal that connects things water tight.

I am aware there are a bunch of clips that help hold it in place, but it was my understanding that this rubber seal is sticky all over and is the piece that seals out the rain.

My concern is that water running down the side will get behind the piece and just sit on the metal fender causing premature issues with rust etc years down the road.

The seal is reusable BUT a new one is $1.00 (one dollar)! The clips are one time use, once unclipped they will never be tight again. The clips are about $2.50 each from Toyota, I think it takes about 10. If you fix it right (do it yourself) you can get the clips from Lilparts.com for 39 Cents each.

The seal is reusable BUT a new one is $1.00 (one dollar)! The clips are one time use, once unclipped they will never be tight again. Thanks for the info. For the sealer part I didn’t see anything in your link about the long rubber seal part. Just the orange clips. Just want to make sure I’m reading what you put down correctly. I was assuming the seal is a roll that is rubber with a sticky outside all around for when you clip the piece back in it seals up very tightly. At this point I’d rather try it myself than have some ass hole joyriding in my car. Thanks for the info!

The seal part# is 75691-35070 / Flare Seal. Back when I did mine several years ago I got the seal from the dealer since it made no sense to ship it.

Also I recall that there was a mix of orange and blue clips. It's been too long for me recall the details. You will probably need to pop it off to see how many of each you will need.
