Wheels for 33x12.50x15

I was finally able to part with the boggers that came on the 4runner I just picked up. While sweet in the mud, they well absolute hell on the road - which is unfortunately where my 4runner sees most of its time.

I was able to scoop up some like-new Goodyear Duratracs this week for a song in the 33x12.50x15 variety. They came on a set of American Racing wheels, but they are the wrong bolt pattern unfortunately (5x4.5).

I do have the stock Toyota wheels, which I believe are 15x7. I have read that this combo works great for airing down, but I am not going to be doing much of that. Goodyear also recommends a wheel width of 8.5 inches or better.

So I have been looking at 15x10" wheels, and options seem to be pretty limited. This is what I am leaning towards right now, and if I pull the trigger tonight, I can get four for about $300 after rebate. I don't know much about the fitment on this combo, so I was hoping someone with some more experience can chime in. Backspacing on those is 3.625. The 4runner is currently lifted 2-2.5". I am not too worried about rubbing when flexing as this is mostly a pavement pounder, but I would prefer not to rub on the springs and steering. The boggers - 33x10.50x15 - on the stock wheels would rub the rear of the front leaf spring at full lock.

Anyone know if this combo will cause me headaches?

The added backspace and width should push the tire out further from the leaf springs at lock, not sure on exact fitment though. The American Racing AR23's like you have there are 115$ on the same site if you like them more, I know I do lol.

Well. I am not sure how they will fit exactly either, but after looking around, it seemed that 3.625 was fairly common. Also the least backspacing I could find was 3.5 on aluminum wheels. So the options were pretty limited anyway it seemed. I went ahead and bit on them to get the Procomp rebate that expired yesterday. We will see... Haha - I would have been happy to keep the ARs if they would fit.

Those swampers look great. Yes - I know it will work. I would just like to run the tires as the manufacturer intended them to be run.

Took the plunge on the wheels. Total for the wheels, tires, mounting, and balancing was less than the sale price of the Boggers I parted with so pretty happy about that.

I think the results are pretty good. The drive is remarkably more enjoyable without the tire noise. Note - this isnt a wheeling rig. I just wanted a clean 1st gen to drive with the top off.
