Okay, so a few of you have seen that I picked up my 2015 TEP on Friday. I had intentions from the get-go to add a few things such as wheels/tires and window tint. Well, I got all of those things yesterday and got VERY lucky specifically with my tire purchase. Here's why I love Discount Tire.
I stopped by yesterday morning on my way out of town to get my 20" Ballistic Jester wheels put on and had already decided on the Cooper Discoverer ATP's in 275/55-20. When the technician said that they MAY not be done in time for me to get on the road, I asked if I could pay for the tires now and swing in on my way back to get them installed. He said that was no problem.
I paid for my tires ($640 after a $200 credit for my stock tires) and went on my way. I got my windows tinted and headed back to discount tire. When I got there, all was good and I sat waiting until they pulled my 4R into the bay. After a few minutes the manager called me over and says "we're not asking for more money, but I need to ask you something" and proceeded to ask me what I liked about the Cooper Discoverers and when I told him that I liked the aggressive look he asked if I had any interest in the BFG A/T. Immediately I said "I don't like the price" because I saw on the computer that they were $1,377 for a set. He, again, says "I'm not asking for money. . . Do you like them". I immediately said "YES". He then asked if I would mind getting those instead of the Cooper's because an employee had sold them without looking to see that they were already sold to me.
Of course, I said NO I didn't mind. . . and that's how I got a $1,377 set of tires for $640. He informed me that I should probably go purchase a lottery ticket because that was a rare thing to happen.
ANYWAY, sorry for the long spill, but I was quite happy about it.
PS. It snowed again last night. Dropping about 5 more inches of snow on us so sorry for the picture, but its the best I have right now. I'll post more pictures soon!View attachment 147259
