Whelen TIR3

anyone on here already install these on their runners? i got a blue one and a clear one that im wiring up in the rear. with a lisence plate bracket. i was hoping someone with some insight could let me know how exactly they wired all theirs up.

I believe ksneubec has them on his 4th gen... I'm fairly content with a hardwired whelen slimlighter...

What are they strobes ? Thats the only thing I've ever heard of from Whelen. I used to have Whelen strobes on my squad.

nah falls, TIR3 are 3 highpower LEDS used for hideaway lights in the grill of emergency cars and trucks. theyre great to be stealthy and still shoot off some powerful light.

It might be tough to wire them if you are going to attach them to the rear license plate. I like the license plate bracket that whelen makes, but the problem is snaking the wires to that spot. I'm sure you can bring them down through the rear license plate lights, but good luck snaking them up from there, through the rear hatch. I've thought about mounting them there myself, but it looks like it will be too tough to get the wires where they need to go. Any other thoughts?

my other thought was just attach another talon up there with the head liner mount and then putting those TIR3s in my grill up front. yeah i kind of figured it would be a bitch snaking them through.

If you don't use the clothing hooks in the back, you can remove them (there is a screw behind the plastic) and mount lights there. With a little creativity I'm sure you can mount the TIR3s there with some sort of L-Bracket. I'll post a photo of how I did this with PAR36s. Its nice because the rear window tint will hide the light until they are on. Plus, it is very easy to hide the wiring. I'll post a photo later today.
