Hey Thai, are you familiar with this pistol? What are thoughts on it?
P250 Full Size
Well, lets just say that there is a reason why i waited until Sig came out with P290. P250 has the unofficial title of "the most unreliable polymer gun"! Whether Sig has fixed the issues with the P250 i am not sure, but i would not want to own it. Recently, if you search for my name, then you will see that i had initial issue with my P290 due to a bad batch of something and i had to send my P290 back to Sig for servicing. It is now reliable, but that experience was not pleasant nor was customer service all that helpful. (Arrogant to customers!) So, if i had another good choice, then i would get it...but unfortunately, for my conceal carry requirements (DAO, no safety, & relatively small), there aren't many choices out there. At least, the P290 that i have now has proven reliable after returning from spa treatment.
Who said that people should not have guns? Not me. My argument is that gun ownership needs more controls to limit WHO can legally obtain a firearm and WHY they need a firearm.
BUT, gun control (as you can read in the NY Times article above) has NOT work...it does not do what it intends to do. This was why the (liberal) Supreme Court did not support further gun control measures. Please read the NY Times article...it is NOT from NRA, but from a liberal media outlet.
John Bad Citizen who just served 5 years for aggravated assault and has a history of documented mental issues, should in my opinion not be allowed to legally obtain a firearm because he presents an increased risk to society by using the firearm irresponsibly or illegally.
From what i understand, John Bad Citizen would not be able to get a handgun today with that background.
I would like to see much more severe punishments to act as deterrents for starters.
Agreed.
I don't want to ban gun ownership, I just want to make it safer.
How?? I would like to hear your ideas...because politicians alike have not found one solution that makes any difference.
see above for my bold response.
