Where are you getting your brake pads?

Dealership just quoted my $110 for the front, $85 for the rear for OEM pads. Seems a little steep.

Where are you guys getting your pads?

Just parts or installed? Sounds right for pads and shims over the Toyota Parts counter. My friend paid the same in December. You can get Toyota pads and shims cheaper online but shipping takes a few days.

Some dealers use cheaper pads with different part #'s. Should be around$100 total.

My local dealer has a discount parts website so I just order from them and pick them up to avoid shipping costs & delay.

You can also try simply asking your dealer if they will price match. It never hurts to ask. I've had decent success at various dealers (not just Toyota) of at least getting them to come down on the price of a part when needed.

Brake pads are sold per axle so you just need 1 set. Do a google image search for that p/n and you will see it includes pads for both front wheels.

Akebono ACT606 and ACT976 at Rockauto. 4Runner still stops, I haven't died.

Since we aren't strictly discussing OEM pads then I will say +1 for Akebono ProAct pads. In fact I prefer them over OEM pads nowadays. No break-in procedure required and perform well. Not very expensive either. Akebono pads with Centric premium rotors are my go-to brake combo.

Thanks guys. I was looking for OEM, but I ended up going with Akebono - ACT976 and ACT606. It was half what the dealer quoted me for parts.

Wagner OEX carbon ceramic. $123 total for both axles out the door from OReilly’s. Best pads I’ve ever felt. Seemed harder than stock but I got used to it. Zero “stiction” feeling when coming to a stop.

I just put those on too.
Best part is they are pretty easy on rotor wear and no brake dust.
