where can i purchase extended shackles??

i purchased rear leaf springs from Trail Gear for my 87 4runner, there heavy duty leafs and are longer then the OEM ones, therefore have to either weld new connectors or use longer shackles. id really prefer to use longer shackles but dont know where to purchase. Please help

Honestly, if you're using the longer TrailGear springs the right thing to do is relocate your spring and shackle hangers on the frame. Just running a longer shackle to the stock hanger will give you perhaps more lift than you bargained for, and it might put your axle in the wrong spot too.

If that's what you want to do, TrailGear has longer shackles. If you don't want to spend any more money with them, check out AllPro Offroad, Northwest Offroad, and 4Crawler. Or just make your own - a set of shackles would be a pretty basic fab project, and a good way to get started making your own stuff. Save a lot of money, that way...

It says right in the ad:
"Springs are 56 5/8" long as measured along the top leaf. Pin to center of front mount is 27 1/2", pin to center of rear mount is 29 5/8". New poly bushings are included with springs. These springs are longer than stock and will require hanger relocation."

Those springs are a good 8 inches longer than your factory 48" springs. Without moving the hangers, your wheel wont be in the center of the wheel well anymore.
