Where did 10 HP go in the 2006 V8 ?

I have read that it depends how HP is measured like SAE... but last year they advertised 270 and now 260.

What happened? Seems to me if it was a true 270 they would advertise it. So it is clear that 4Runner has lost 10HP.

different rating system that Toyota and other manufacturers are all using. It use to be that different manufacturers used different rating systems for their engines.. now its standardized.

Just think about it as.... same engine... same performance... and the previous owners lost 10hp.

I thought they were all using the same standard before (SAE), but the standard was changed.

no one lost power..its just a different formulation.

Its like the DIN vs SAE conversion...same power one just reads lower.

dont go looking for lost ponies... you aint gonna find none
