Exactly. Where do you post stuff? How do you define where a post goes? I have my opinion but would like to get others. Just curious what others think.

Not a moved thread but the content of a post.

I've always found it to be self explanatory for the most part.

Sometimes things double up but generally it is up to the mods, hopefully light modding, to decide if something really needs to be moved.

My condolences on your new Title. It's largely a thankless job, and you'll waste waaaaaaaaaaay too many hours trying to do a decent job, only to have your efforts ignored, or ridiculed.

If I were you, I'd spend the most time ridding the board of spammers/ spambots. For awhile there, I was reporting the spam regularly, but the response seemed pretty lax, so I gave up.

I wouldn't worry about moving threads from one forum to another, unless it's glaringly obvious that a thread is in the wrong forum.

Seriously though, If it's specific to the make/model/year, I'll put it in the appropriate "Gen" forum. If it's fun and games outside of vehicles, Off Topic. Most anything vehicle related that isn't make/model/year specific I'll put in General, or if it's 4Runner part specific, perhaps the engine/suspension/audio/etc. forum.

Typically, I don't venture into or post much in other parts of any forum (for example, some forums create subsections for BBQ, Camping, Biking, etc.) If I'm looking for discussion on those things, I'll usually go to a specific forum for that activity. Although, if such threads come up in the Off Topic section, I will reply if something in the thread sparks my interest.
