Where have all the old yotas gone?

see, my skyjacker rear springs are pretty stiff still, ive had them on for just under a year...but i got the rear 2" more than they were supposed to be, that way when they do sag, it stays equal in the end with the front!

Yeah, but I had mine on about 5 years, and have seriously abused them. As you could tell from some of the pics, on 4rotm August. I flex the crap out of them, jumped tires 6+ feet off the ground etc... Also not running oversized bump stops so they would flex past flat... Mine were still stiff--just sagging on one side in the rear. I have replaced the rear with the 7" skyjacker springs again.

the trick is...to drive on it while its frozen

It was actually during low tide. I was playing around in a mud/clay hole while the tide was out. A friend in his heep, I mean jeep, asked me if I thought he could make it through. I said, "go for it, if you can't, I'll pull you out". Well I broke a 15,000 lb test strap in 3 different places trying to pull him out. As a stupid, last resort, I had a 6' 60,000 lb test cable. I got in the mud hole with him, and in about 1 to 2 seconds, I sank to my axles, covered us both in clay and mud. Spent the next 2 nights down their, it sat through 2 high tides and took a front loader to pull (lift) it out. I'll see if I can get some pics on here.

Not too sure about the 1st gen's Lift, but the 3rd gen has 4 inches I believe... so you can tell the difference. lol

I could only post pics of my 2nd gen sitting in my driveway, because the engine is completely shot. But hopefully, have it swapped out here in a month or so, if money/time cooperates.

Looks real nice. I like the fender flares and the lift... looking good.... the clear corners are a thought for me now... obviously the clear emergency lights in the front too. Candied back lights... props, its a beautiful truck.

I feel like drawing on my brush guard, a loadwarrior roof rack, a spare tire on top, some aux lights, some tailight guards on yours cause thats my dream car right there.

How'd you mount the antenna, the pics aren't clear.

Thanks. It's a 3.0L, auto. I mounted the antenna with a Firestik stainless steel bracket. SS204-A, I believe... I picked it up off eBay. Here are a couple pics:

Oh I wish I had the extra $$...there is a 1st gen here for sale: they want 2k, but I understand 1500 could drive it away. 22re/5speed and solid front axle. Oh how I wish!

i totally agree with you

what has happened to the 4runner? i love the old schools the are awesome- built hell-4-stout and can go anywhere. i too have a bunch of friends with jeeps that think they are cool but my 88 with 4"of lift and 31x10.50's can out 4wheel them all day long and mine cost $3000. a fraction of the price for their new jeeps.

i am not a big fan of the new 4runners. the last year i really like and would consider buying is a 1995. the new ones are nice but a bit to luxurious and "highroler" for me. i will stick with my old yoto!

dude, i was working at ups...they would have crucified me...and being called gay in quebec means nothing lol..we do have a gay village u know. but anyway, i quit it and im starting my new job at diablo paintball tomorrow!!!!

and c00per152, with the 88 4Runner, that 4 inch lift doesnt look like a 4 inch...looks more like a 2 incher cuz the ass end isnt sagging but theres not enough space that u can see through like mine...sorry to diss it, but u gotta seriously check out what u have.
