Where to buy 5 Star Wheels

Hello,

After waiting months and months no one in my area has a set of 5 Star wheels for sale. I was going to order them from an OEM wheel website but I read horrible reviews of them, so I backed out. Any reputable place online I can order from?

I know these wheels will probably be costly with shipping but personally they are my favourite wheel. The only wheel that would tempt me away would be a beadlock wheel which is completely unnecessary for me at this stage.

I got mine on eBay from an individual, not a car part seller. To find them I had to page through the search " 2001 4Runner wheels." Searching "five star" won't yield many results. The shipping was in two moving boxes with two wheels each. Total shipping from the west coast was $40. I paid more than the set I saw on Craigslist (once) and failed to act on. The CL ones were $150 set. I paid $200 plus $40 shipping. I'd guess my local Toyota shop would charge $400 per wheel so it was a bargain.

I've seen badly wrecked 4Runners in salvage yards with near pristine 5-Star wheels - in better condition than the ones on my 4Runner. Just buy the wheels that are in excellent condition and continue going to salvage yards until you collect 4 or 5. Shouldn't take more than one afternoon.

The way I actually found mine was to print out a picture of five star wheels (so the non English speaking guy understands what it is that you are looking for) and go to those wheel and tire shops in the bad area of town. I found my current wheels at the 3rd shop I visited. A lot of owners buy custom wheels and the factory wheels end up at places like this. I traded in my 2001-2002 limited flower/coke bottle style wheels and had the same shop where I bought them from mount and balance the five stars for a little over $100 in total cost.

Either of the above two methods will work and there is no shipping involved. You also get to closely inspect each wheel before you buy it.

There are hundreds of these 5-star wheels lying around... you just have to figure out where they are. I agree that the 5-Star wheels are some of the best looking wheels out there. I'm going to keep mine until I get all 5 silver FJ Trail Team wheels.
