ok,, I've seen several trucks on here that have scoops on the hood. are these aftermarket attachments or or they original factory hood? where can I find one at?

They are usually factory, with the sport edition package. You can find them on ebay and junk yards. I have been debating on one for myself, looks like they range from about $150 (w/o paint) to $350

^ that sounds about right. I had to get a new one in the grille making process and the hinges had to be replaced with it. Painted out the door was about $1200. The body shop ordered it from Toyota I believe. There is a company in Atlanta that sells aftermarket Toyota parts, which would be the same thing as the one from Toyota it is just not made by them.
Do you want it just for the looks? There are scoops out there for under 30 bucks. They use adhesive and you can paint to match.

I would paint them myself if I were you, because the painted ones are much more expensive.

No offense, but dont even suggest such a thing. If you want to hood with scoop do the real deal and dont "rice" a beautiful truck with a part you can purchase from your local autozone.
You might win by saving money but in the long run your the loser. (not intended towards anyone) :fro:
Don't get me wrong, I agree that it's ricey. Which is why I don't have one.
But what would you call paying 300 dollars for an aftermarket hood/scoop that serves no mechanical purpose? I guess you wouldn't be a loser that way, just an idiot. Maybe a little of both. :fro:

Flyer: I doubt it could have any real affect of the aerodynamics, I mean it is already an SUV. But I guess you could dremel out some of the holes so you could have some cool air going into the engine bay.

I know the stock one does not have any aerodynamical effect. I have heard of someone cutting out holes in it and supposedly had some electrical problems after a while because of water getting in there. On the other hand, I have pressure washed my engine bay many times and not had any problems. Another idea would be to make some kind of tubing that went to the air box, but doesn't look terrible.
Hey everyone if you mod your car in anyway for aesthetic purpose's then you are a idiot in this guys view. Don't try and make your vehicle look good or do something that makes you happy, then you are an idiot. I'll have to remove everything i've done to my 4runner thats not mechanical now damn :gun4:

You don't buy a part liek this from the dealer when there's PLENTY in junk yards. Search car-part.com and you'll find a bunch from $250-400, possibly even the right color! There's a gray one, but it's 400 miles from me and I'm waiting for one closer. Won't cost you a penny more than that if you can turn a few bolts to replace yours... and it's original Toyota!

Really?!? You called on OVER 50 HOODS WITH SCOOPS LISTED?!? Even the ones with "Bare OEM Boxed" and "OEM with scoop". AFT in the condition column is an aftermarket part, A0 is what you're looking for - great condition no repair needed. Aftermarket is usually listed.
