Where to find 99 tall springs...

So I am looking for the beloved 99 tall springs - however, not exactly sure where to purchase them from. I have seen rear coil springs listed at 15.25" (81043) height and then I see springs listed at 16.25" (81041)....

Can anyone verify if these are the springs I would be looking for?

My saggy 1998 2wd still has the original springs for a 15" wheel vehicle so just looking for an affordable upgrade and to fix the sag.

I believe the part number for the '99 tall springs is 48231-35210, but not 100% sure.

Camelback Toyota has consistently been the best part seller. Also, if you mention that you are a T4R member, they will apply a discount.

Thanks for the information - I ended up going out back and looking at my "Parts-runner" - a rusted out 1998 that I am cannibalizing for my 5-speed 4x4 swap... turns out it sits about 2/3" higher than mine... maybe someone swapped the springs in there already - it also had the smaller Tundra brakes on it and some other non-stock mods...

Probably going to just going to swap those parts over to mine before I scrap the parts car since I cant even give it away

suggestion: get fj springs

look at the pro's and cons of them

they are progressive, just as tall, handle weight better, and ride great. prob cheaper if you can get them used.

I put a set of the moog talls on my 2000 limited about 10,000 miles ago.
Installed with a set of 4600 billy's .
About an inch higher , it's fine .

I'm in the process of installing a full suite of Shrocksworks iron and will
upgrade my boingers with 6112's ( I'm trying to figure out if the Tundra
6112's will work ) and the remote res rears with 891's .

I threw out my old '99s because I did not have the nerve to sell them. No sag either, unloaded, and full length on the bench. But throw some weight in the back and her ass was draggin'. Not saying yours are that way, but what counts is how they do with weight in the rear.

OK so after a year on this site I still don't know what spring / shock setup I want because it is so confusing. --- INFORMATION.... OVERLOAD.... I want about 1" of lift. I load it up good sometimes for trips so I don't want too much sag. Good on/off road manners. I don't do crazy rock crawling but sometimes if I'm out there in a pinch I may have to. I have stock bumpers. Can ANYONE help me?!?!?!?!?

I'm not going to reinstall to put weight in the back and take pictures. I didn't have any problems before lift . I'm in the decorative concrete bizz, and would have bags of Portland and sand in the back from time to time. Again no issues. Also I was only trying to help a fellow member out. If the price is to high.... let's talk, make a deal. Maybe something like you pay shipping, install'em if they work out. Pay me the price we again on. I didn't accuse you of anything. I simply wished to inform anyone reading your post that your description in no way guarantees those 18-year old springs will perform with weight on them. I stand by my statement. I think it was a fair one to make.

I am skeptical of any used rear original '99 springs, not just yours, so don't take it personally. Mine were toast, and they rarely went offroad or carried heavy loads.

If you do light offroad and not much towing, go Moog. They cost like 38 bucks for the pair and work just fine.

I've heard they don't stand up well to abuse (extreme towing) but if you don't do much of that, they'll be fine. I have Moog rear (81041) springs and they work great.

I load up pretty well with tools for work on a regular and it's fine. The rear is still noticeably higher than the front. I still have my original 99 talls on the front.

You might just want the basic 99 Tall springs in front with Old Man Emu 2906's in the rear. That's a pretty basic, level sitting, load hauling, mild lift. Choose whichever shock you like. Several people on here have this set up.

**Unless you have a 3RZ, with no weight added. I switched my 99 Talls for the [MENTION=85046]nissanh[/MENTION] springs. These are 2004 Tacoma Extended cab Offroad Package Progressive springs. They sit a little lower than the 99 Talls and ride a little nicer in the 4 banger.

I also went with moog 99 springs from rock auto. 97 limited got about an inch of lift out of it. I didn't need a big lift and it's just a beater for me so cheap springs and kyb shocks is as nice as its gonna get

I got the Bilstein 5100 set for the 3rd gen 4Runner. The info that comes with it states it's for 0-2" additional height from stock. There's additional info on this thread:

I have the rear MOOG springs installed. Un sprung they were the same height as my stock 97 springs.

I picked up a 96 4Runner a few months ago that has 99 springs. I really like the way it sits. It has recently started squeaking a bit from the front end. I think I need to start replacing some bushings.

If you want your vehicle to sit at the height of 99 Talls why not get yourself a set of stock 5th gen springs? They sit at an almost identical height and have a thicker coil diameter, not to mention you can get them dirt cheap. In this thread I shared some measurements I took when trying them out myself.

A couple things I will mention is with 5th gen springs you must use stock length shocks due to the shorter static height of the 5th gen rears. I also did not try the 5th fronts but they're basically the same as FJ fronts and those are well known for working just fine.
